Re: Patch 1.05 Now Available
I can confirm that they did fix the 2V2 9 hole, alt-shot matchmaking option. I completed a match a little while ago on the PC version, and it went very smooth... we had a great match as well, even though I let my partner down by leaving an 8 foot downhill birdie putt a foot short, taking us 2 down with 2 to play
It was nice to see this working again, and I was equally surprised to see that I was able to find a match within 6 or 7 minutes. I find that gamers on the PC are more likely to stick out a match, so I attempt this sort of thing on that platform more often.Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

U know guys it's all about personal preference, it seems like most of the developers has forgotten about what games really want & need with these newer releases each year, because no game is perfect & that's why I still play Top Spin 4, Tiger woods PGA tour 14, NCAA 14 & Kinect sports on my 360 because those games was fun as hell not perfect but fun to me in general, but it seems like with these newer games & consoles we are getting less & less & it's all about microtransactions etccccc but @ the end of the day it's all up to the developers & companies behind them, because I own all the systems but for some reason I always return back to my 360 guys fun times indeedComment

Re: Patch 1.05 Now Available
On PS4 the game crashes quite a bit. At it's core it is a decent game this year the best yet. However if this game did not allow for the numerous excellent user created courses I would never play it. God knows what in hell they were thinking with this latest nonsense it truly boggles the mind.
After the TW's series ended I did not bother with the TGC after it debuted nor was I interested in any of the sequels after it. PGA2K21 got my attention once it included a number of real courses. Still have yet to play any of them due to the numerous user created courses that are out there and keep me going. I'm playing local courses that were created that never would see the light of day officially. Lots of talented people out there."Behind every fortune is a crime"Comment

Re: Patch 1.05 Now Available
HB Studios attitude about community relations totally baffles me. They had a bit of a positive interactive uptick a couple of weeks before 2K21's release and maybe the week following. Since then it's been pretty much nada. I think something has happened between them and 2K, as they were 'full speed ahead' with 2K's forum being their new official communication channel. They haven't posted anything their since August and the 2K moderator doesn't offer any thoughts on what's going on. It's not a good look.Duke Football? That's what I think too, it sure looks like the end of the PGA 2K experience. Sometimes I wonder if it's not something to do with the rumors of a new EA PGA game being made for new generation consoles.Comment

Re: Patch 1.05 Now Available
I would be SO excited about a next-gen EA golf game!
I'd even be excited about a next-gen 2k golf game if they dumped HB. I'm sorry, but HB has run its course with the golf thing. They seem unable to push it over the top and the amount of progress over a 4 version run of TGC is just not very impressive.
EA just needs to pull out and polish up the Rory source code. It needed some gameplay and swing work still, but the graphics engine I'm positive could be dialed up for next-gen.Last edited by scagwi; 10-27-2020, 02:33 PM.Comment

Re: Patch 1.05 Now Available
I sure hope there's more updates/content than this...even though I know that it's the HB way of doing things.
They teased in the lead up to release that they were working on adding clothing brands, potential new courses, etc. So far, we've gotten lousy Halloween themed gear, massive hats, silly putters, and nothing that they mentioned at all.
I have to say, if they don't add more content to actually drum up some interest in this game for folks like me, and correct some of the lingering issues that have been documented by the community, I'm likely done playing this game consistently. I'm at level 82 at this point in the game, and once you get to level 100, it seems like there's really no further progression. All you can do is earn coins I guess, and just buy up all the clothes and clubs available, but that's it.
Honestly, I've been spending significantly more time playing NCAA Football 14 than PGA 2K21 in the last month or so. I can't recall a game that's gone from being my go-to, to lingering on the shelf, in such a short amount of time like PGA 2K21.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 10-27-2020, 03:37 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: Patch 1.05 Now Available
I've said it several times, TGC is a course designer with a golf sim built around it. They've done a very good job at this, people designing great golf courses and playing some nice rounds of golf on them. A hardcore crowd wanted a much tougher, almost impossible to break par settings, they got it in spade. It's enough for TGC Tours to get going.
What HB was never able to design is the rest we were accustomed in the TW series. Starting with career mode which is almost a joke, not even on the very basic standard with the Rory game. They still can't get a leaderboard going right. And multiplayer is not much better than career mode. And what's going on with the 2K message board being abandoned by HB, just hiding on their own forum is a disgrace.Comment

Re: Patch 1.05 Now Available
This whole cycle, of not getting info/footage about 2K21 until a week before the game, to the positive result of seeing the game in action via "streamers", followed by a release that saw positive responses to gameplay, then followed up by slow servers, stats missing, swing tempo changing via unannounced server-side updates, entire patches being released with no patch notes, Halloween gear that no one wanted, etc. has been an absolute roller coaster.
The amazing thing is...PGA 2K21 is getting consideration as one of the best sports games this year. Probably says more about the industry than 2K21 itself. And I know - at first I was a huge fan of this game. Said it was the best golf game I'd ever played on console outside of TW14. But the shiny newness has worn off, and HB is showing its warts.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 10-27-2020, 04:48 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment
