Of course they don't play it, it's only window dressing. They play some head to head and the designer courses. As long as designer keep building some great real courses copy, the game is gold.

Another issue for me with all this career mode garbage is that, aside from the fact that the leaderboards changing destroys immersion and any kind of representation of real-life pro golf, the mode also locks gear and items behind the sponsors and sponsor goals. Some of the sponsor challenges you need completed to unlock things depends on your results in tournaments.

So, if the results are all glitched and show you in first, then third, then first again, or something like that, you may not unlock those items.

I've seen some challenges where the sponsor is asking you to "Win the (insert event name here)". Now, what if you do win it, but the game gives Justin Thomas credit for the victory after you go to the final leaderboard?

Just another way in which having these scores glitched really ruins career mode.

So HB is responsible for the new animations around and on the greens? Good job on that. So HB makes the game and 2k tells them not to answer any questions same as what Maximum did before? Customer Service sucks.

They need an actual pga tour player to do the mo cap. Not some nobody club pro no ones ever heard of. The swing has never felt natural.

Yeah the swing timing is pretty bad especially once you get past pro. I didn't fully realize this until I found some good online societies which do away with the swing timing all-together. I'm having a lot more fun and it's still a challenge depending on the course & conditions.

I played the first tournament in career mode and finished in second place (-3) to Gary Woodland (-6). The next day I went to start the next tournament and it shows I'm in first place in the FedEx Cup standings. How? It says I won the last event, then I check and see Woodland finished +6.

I am going to restart my career and hope this is not an ongoing issue. I did have to adjust the settings quite a few times to get the AI scoring to fit to my level (or lack of) skill to make it challenging.

Does anyone have suggestions on decent settings for a semi-novice? I've been playing TGC since it came out years ago, but have always found the AI being very difficult to adjust to from round to round.

It is an ongoing issue, I'm afraid. Scores and leaderboards in this games are glitched and I've lost count of the number of times this has happened to me.

As far as difficulty goes, I'd just suggest testing out different career mode settings and AI skill levels that fit your ability. You can also adjust course settings in career mode, too, making the courses themselves play easier or harder.

Seeing that this is on sale right now, Ive been considering picking it up but reading through this thread definitely has me doubting that decision. Maybe Ill save my $20 and use it for a copy of Tiger Woods 14 instead.

Just keep the $20 and save it for either 2K or EA 22/23

My opinion isn't worth a hill of beans, but 2K has shown no interest in fixing any outstanding issues with the currently released game. I'd hesitate to reward them with any more sales with that behavior. But that's just me.

Obviously, if you need/want to buy it - have at it!

Yeah Ive decided 21 isnt worth it, not with the frustration that will come with it at this point. I definitely agree that they do not need to be rewarded for such shoddy work on a career mode.

Me either, but I'm leaning digital.

I used to do the whole "buy NHL game on disc and resell" to reduce the cost....but for me that was about it.

Even though it costs more buying the games, I really enjoy the whole "just download them" angle at this point in time.

Plus the digital one is cheaper to begin with.

Is there a storage difference or is that the only diff?
