I'm more talking about the content of the game itself.

They aren't going to compete on real course licensing with EA and thus, rather than a really half hearted effort on that, I'd so dramatically prefer they fully embrace an even more capable designer and allow/enable/support far more customization of all aspects of the in game experience.

What sucks about them being even "one toe in the water" with licensed courses, is it ramps up the pressure on them to police the third party RCRs. Anything that gets them away from that would be great. I fully believe the 3rd party designers will make better versions of the real courses anyhow.

    Don't you think?

Are you saying they should go with TIGER WOODS 2K23? Drop the PGA and let the user create their experience how they see fit? If so I’m all in on that. The PGA license is holding them back now imo and not benefiting them too much overall for the better.

        Absolutely!

I'm sure there would still be some real courses (great!), but competing for the "I want to play licensed PGA Tour courses and follow along during the season as the real PGA Tour progresses on TV" crowd is sort of all or nothing in my view.

EA is taking the right approach to that and (at least from what they've said so far) really going big on the licensing for real events/courses.

It sort of does a disservice to all of us as customers to have two companies vying for the exact same type of product. I'd much rather have them attack the sport of golf from two different perspectives and give us much more optionality on what we are looking for in a game.

EA isn't going to do course creators or lots of customization. They are shooting for "PGA Tour TV on your game console"... That's great for many folks..

But... it leaves a LOT of room to exploit for 2K/Tiger and I really hope they take that opportunity here.

I agree so much, that’s a great way of putting it.
