PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread

I have the same problem as Christian, but if I uninstall/reinstall, would that mess up my pre-order bonuses, even though they are in my transaction history?

I tried that and didn’t change anything. I think I’m a dumba$$. My friend said the currency symbol (looks like a G) is the in-game currency and not actual currency.

Game looks great and on pro its hard which i like. Golf is hard, well for me anyways. Lol



Ive owned every version of hb studios golf and ive never been good at it. Tempo is hard for me big time but i like thae challenge as opposed to older tiger games where youd shoot 20 under every round.



All in all im satisfied so far. To be honest i just really wanted a golf game for steam deck.

The challenge is great.

The player creation suite is really disappointing.

I’ve started off with the 3 click swing and I’ve enjoying it so far. Shot 5 under in the Q school final.

Really like that you can lick an archetype this go around. I’d imagine powerhouse being a popular choice, as it’s nice to be able to drive it 300 plus right from the start.

I chose Rhythm. Played a bit more game is getting a bit easier around the greens. Shot 73 and 75. Still no way to filter out the shall we say below average or auto created courses. I don't mind the follow cam but it seems as if the other cam options are a little more zoomed out than in 21. On some shots in you can barely see the ball land and roll on the green.

I did 1.5 rounds before bed and I was really struggling with slow swing speeds. I need to figure that out because it turned into a round killer.

I'm interested to know, before I commit to buying: is the bug with PGA Tour leaderboards from 2K21 resolved?

If we recall, that bug was really quite fundamental - with golfers' final scores changing 'after' an event, upon a reload, etc.

That, for me, is a deal-breaker if it still exists. Just curious whether there's any evidence it still exists?

I don't mind so much if there's 'transactional' errors with presentation in-game...but final results being altered from one launch to next would be game-breaking.

I pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition (from GameStop) and have had it since Tuesday. I'm not going to use them, but I noticed I did not have the gold cap, gold glove, hockey stick putter, etc when I entered the bonus content code--not even sure I have the 1300 VC. Is this a problem for anyone else or are you good?

Well I got up early this morning to play a few rounds before work. Jumped right into MyCareer with 3 click on PRO difficulty.

First round I shot even par with a couple holes where I looked like a hack on a Sunday afternoon duffing shots down the fairway. I like how I have to take a couple practice swings to get the feel of the shot I am attempting to hit. Gives it that real golf element. Making birdies really gives you a sense of accomplishment.

Outside of the actual gameplay I wasn't that impressed. I will continue to play it as a love golf and with winter coming I can see this getting me through until spring. Having said that I will be waiting somewhat patiently for the EA release.

How are the AI scores on the leaderboard on the higher difficulty levels?

In 2k21 they would score crazy numbers on the higher levels - hoping this has been worked on a bit. Thanks!

They implemented the stick swing really well this year IMO. It feels like a complete overhaul from 2k21.
In 2k21 it felt like if I was slow, I got the same looking shot every time. But on 2k23 it seems as though it’s more on a scale kind of like how MLBTS is. Where you can have a “slightly slow”, “slow”, “very slow”, “very very slow “. Though it doesn’t actually show these words, you can easily see just how slow you were based on the swing feedback. When I’m just barely slow, it’s almost like hitting a perfect. But when I hit a very very slow, the ball goes like 30 yards total.
I think it’s a really nice touch with the stick this year, and encourage anyone who disliked it in 2k21 to try it again this year.

Yep. Three click has been a great addition. I am on ps5, and I am getting good results. Right where I want time be in MyCareer. Middle of the pack on the Korn Ferry Tour, with one win and one MC.

I can tell me being a Greensman has cost me on some courses and helped on others.

Well I have to say, all my complaining about graphics but on the PC on Ultra it does look really, really impressive. I jacked up everything to ULTRA and did a 200% increase for graphics, looks great, runs great.

I am seeing a bit of ghosting fade through though that isn't a big deal and I imagine will be corrected on a patch soon.

Anyone else playing on the PC here or you guys all doing the console route?

I got mine on Steam.
