Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread
I am playing 4 rounds in tournament career. Can someone tell me how I can get back to the main menu and not quit the tournament without shutting the application down and restarting the game. Seems I have to finish the tournament or quit the tournament I see no other choices so I just shut the game down and re open. Must be another way.Comment

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread
Been playing on Pro for the last 10-12 rounds after Pro-am got a little too easy. Shooting around 5-7 under on some of the easier courses and right around even par on the harder courses all in career mode. Haven't ventured online yet, trying to get as much stuff unlocked and fitting upgrades before that.
Love how the game punishes you for missing the fairways or missing the green or not putting it on the proper level of the green and just having to painfully watch the ball roll off the green. Lol
Getting better at putting but still under reading the downhill putts and overreading the uphill putts.Texas Rangers/Saints/LSU/Tottenham Hotspur

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread
I'm pretty much in the same spot. Started on pro am at the very beginning but it got too easy really quick. I'm about 10 events in on mycareer, on Pro, shooting about the same as you, a few under on the easy ones and maybe even or a couple under on the harder ones.
The fast greens with the ball rolling out, and the green side sand issue is killing me. You have to be *just right* with the tempo out of the sand surrounding the greens. Really hard.Comment

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread
I agree with you. I am still struggling with green side bunkers and putting. I feel like I am getting it, and then I have a bad round. With that being said, I do feel like I am better today than a week ago.Comment

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread
I forgot to mention I switched my archetype from rhythm to the woodsman. I don't know if it's placebo or what but feel like I recover better using this archetype and didn't really hurt my ability to find my tempo. I really struggled with tempo on the rhythm archetype for some reason which is supposedly the strength of using it. I think it's worth exploring the other archetypes. I think greensman and woodsman are slept on. The consensus from the content creators is rhythm with a few bomber archetypes thrown in.Texas Rangers/Saints/LSU/Tottenham Hotspur

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread
I really enjoy the new take on the 3 click. I’m a little older so reflexes have slowed just enough to make it harder to hit the perfect swing. I’m on Pro (I think) and shoot anywhere from -4 to + 4 on the same course.
Now if I could only get the CPU difficulty right. I’m tired of the winner being -17 (4 rounds) and I’m 20th even though I’m +2

This makes sense. I really wanted to get 10 tourneys in before switching, but I will switch it up at some point here soon.Comment

Was sculptor just added to the archetypes or did I just miss it? I honestly don't remember it being there. LolTexas Rangers/Saints/LSU/Tottenham Hotspur

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread
I've spent a few hours today going further into mycareer mode. The more I play, the more I can't figure out the clubbing up or down, the greenside bunkers, and especially the putting. It's maddening.
To wit: A very typical shot from maybe 80 yards out, way uphill, caddie gives me a club that appears to come 20 feet or more short of the pin. Club up one, pull it WAY back, hit it true and straight, and it sails over the pin.
Next hole, do the opposite, take the given club, same swing, and it comes up 20 feet short.
Putting is like learning a completely different game. If the line is flat or even slightly downhill, you have to pull it back about twice as much as 2k21, and even doing that and just kissing the putt almost always ends with a runner 15 feet past the hole.
I'm really loving the game, I'm playing on the rhythm archetype and almost always hit a perfect tee shot and fairway approach. But man...once I get within 80 yards and especially greenside and on the green, it's bogie or double way too often (pro mode). It just all seems to be really unbalanced, tee to green. Tee shots and fairway woods are almost automatic for me, but wedges and putting seems to be exponentially more erratic and random. Really hoping they tune the short game a bit.Last edited by golfnut67; 10-28-2022, 07:07 AM.Comment
