Sounds more and more like the PS5 is the system to own for this game.
I have a Series S and it definitely is bad when I have multiple occurrences where I can't start my backswing. I solved a lot of this by playing without tempo and have been enjoying the game a lot more playing on higher Master skill level.

You might be right. I'm reading all of these posts and most of this issues seem to be with xbox. I haven't had a single crash of any kind, neither has my buddy that I play with (he's PS5 as well), the game is silky smooth with no stuttering or ripping at all, other than perhaps when you fast forward a shot, but that's understandable, you're purposely speeding up the play when you do that and losing a few frames in fast forward isn't really an issue.

Ask Santa for a PS5 lol

Yeah if you could even find one without sitting on the internet waiting for some to come available.

I’ve honestly never had a console game behave like that

This needs a flat out rewrite with a refreshed development team

Haven’t had a single crash on series X & I’ve played two seasons & I jump into societies a few times a week to remind me how bad at the game I am.

Does anyone else think the reason why the bugs and general lazy development of this game can be attributed to the fact that the main team is working on a new game with a brand new engine?

4 games into this franchise and these guys still haven't figured out how to implement proper drop zones is the most glaring game play problem.

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread

On PS4, I have had maybe a handful of outright crashes, and they have all happened in the course designer. The bigger issues for me are:

              1. Career Mode stuttering/frame dropping/screen tearing during backswing, ball flight, etc. This does NOT happen when playing local rounds. I think the career mode servers are to blame.

              2. Major issues/bugs in the course designer. Splining problems, the fact you can only place one pin on a green randomly, and other odd things. Honestly, this mode crashes more than any other part of the game. I saw a poll on CrazyCanuck1985's Twitter feed that said 70% of respondents are either no longer designing at all, or are still using 2K21 to design, because of all the course creator issues. And a lot of designers on PC aren't using 2K23 because they removed a ton of mouse and keyboard functionality in the designer for some reason...Embarrassing that this is the case, when the course designer is the big differentiator between 2K and EA.

              3. General sense of "nothing to do"...this game has gotten boring so fast. I am about a year and a quarter into MyCareer mode, and I have beaten all the rivals (actually, I have beaten them all twice, as you just play them over again once you've completed the list), maxed out sponsorships for Nike, Mizuno, Titleist, adidas, and a couple others I think, have 88 of the 100 "fittings", and I just don't really care any more. The rest of the sponsors are pointless (does anyone really ever wear Tattoo Golf clothing?!?!). The "curated list" of courses you can swap into career mode events hasn't changed at all. And because very few new courses are really coming out due to issues in the designer, the best courses you can play are pretty much all 2K21 tracks that have been ported and have been played to death. TGCTours is starting up, but that's only 4 rounds a week...doesn't add too much. I'm also at Level 42 in MyPlayer, so I only have 8 more levels and I'm maxed on that, too.

              4. Sad state of the "Pro Shop"...there is next to nothing in there to buy. There is ONE PAIR of men's branded golf shorts...

              5. Clubhouse Pass Season 1...it's still like 60 or 70 days left to go in that pass, and it's quite terrible and offers very little anyone really wants (I guess unless you're a huge Malbon fan).

              6. Disconnects...happens pretty frequently for me. Sometimes in the middle of rounds, which is really annoying.

Sounds like maybe you're bored with the game because you play too much, lol.

I play only 2 round events in MyCareer, and skip a lot of the events (particularly ones at the fake courses). So it's not like I'm grinding out 4-round tourneys in MyCareer and am playing every event.

I have played next to no multiplayer (I have done one 3-hole match), and have tried Topgolf twice. I haven't played any Society events either. I have spent time in local matches (which award next to nothing in terms of XP and VC/rewards), but honestly, I have not dedicated a ton of time in 2K23...at least compared to how much time I put into 2K21 at the same time in the release cycle.

So I would say that playing the game too much is not the problem. Although if you'd ask my wife, she'd probably agree with you...no matter how much I play the game! :-)

One of my first in-game purchases was the Nike clothing bundle. I thought the polo was supposed to be the one Tony Finau wears. Instead of it being Nike, it turned out to be Psych--doesn't even have the swoosh logo on it.

I 100% think this is what’s happening. 2K23 is a crowdfunding edition of 2K21 to bolster the accounts for a proper next generation golf game.

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread

I got so angry with this game last night that I actually started a return to Amazon, but eventually cancelled it. The only fun I'm getting out of the game is playing locally with my wife, 1v1 9 hole, and with my friend online.

Mycareer is already completely stale after one season. I have no interest in all of the stuff they've added with the pros, the fittings, archetypes, etc. I selected Rhythm at the very beginning and have never went back.

If they don't fix how ****ing hard it is to shoot out of the green side bunkers, I'm going back to 2k21 until the EA game comes out. I've admitted that I am definitely a fanboy of this game (in the past at least), but all this release has done for me, someone that just wants a solid sim game that plays well, is made changes for the sake of change to make the game much harder to shoot par or better.

If I had to do it all over again knowing what I know now, I would have skipped it. It's depressing.

The Nike sponsorship in career mode is kind of a waste, too. Three of the nine sponsor rewards are gloves...and there's no actual apparel in there (no shirts, no pants/shorts...). Yeah, the shoes are nice, but there's literally one polo from Nike available to all users in the game (you do have a purple Air Jordan option in the pro shop you can buy, and you did get a TW Sunday red polo if you pre-ordered the TW Edition).

Seems to me they are wasting the license...but they'll probably hide a bunch more Nike gear behind the Clubhouse Pass paywall later down the road. Ugh.

You're probably right about that ^^

I'm probably different than most, I don't wear any logos or brands in real life (golf or everyday street clothes), and in 2k21 I just had simple unbranded black pants and shoes, plain grey vest over a nice looking long sleeve shirt, and the old school type of hat.

In this game, it's impossible to do that. I can't even find an unbranded hat or visor that matches black. They've taken sooo many options out of the clothing it's ridiculous. I'm forced to wear a PING visor, or a dark blue unbranded hat that doesn't match, or nothing. In 2k21 you could really get the old school, properly dressed Scottish Gentleman look going. Not in this game. I haven't even seen the really old school puffy pants that come down just below the knees with the long socks. Maybe I've missed it but I can't find it and I haven't seen anything like that playing online with other people.

Why would they remove clothing options that they've already developed???
