They need to get rid of consumable balls they won't though. They could tone down the speed a little bit. 21 was way too slow even if you turned the green speed all the way up.

      Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions

Watching some TopSpin 2K25 tennis videos, as the game is releasing this week, and I am curious to see what - if anything - 2K takes from that game and brings into PGA 2K25 (or whatever the next game will be).

I like that TopSpin has injuries and stamina in career mode, and travel takes energy, too. I'd like to see these factors put into the golf game.

I don't like that they are really forcing you to grind like crazy to level up, while dangling microtransaction carrots in front of you to spend money to advance quicker. The IGN review of TopSpin really criticized the microtransaction aspects of the game...and this way of doing things is likely not going anywhere unfortunately.

And, of course, single player career mode requires a persistent online connection...just wonderful.

It would have to be HB Studios taking from Hanger 13. TopSpin blows away PGA across the board from what I've seen. It has depth and a lot of the little things that lead to a more complete experience. Seems like they decided if the graphics can't be AAA worthy, then the rest should make up for it.

It definitely sounds like TopSpin does have a much deeper experience, especially in the career mode side of things.

And while Hanger 13 and HB are the separate studios that make these games, they're both owned by 2K...I'd really like to see some sharing going on between their in-house studios to make these games better. HB could use some help in the career mode side of things, and a stamina/injury system, along with a variety of training games, coaches, etc. could really enhance PGA 2K's immersion.

            Beach--

One of the things I like about Topspin 2K25 is that you can take your time progressing through seasons--even when there is another one released. There is something I want in the last tier of season 1, but I can rest assured that I won't miss out on it due to lack of time spent on gameplay (I don't get to fire up the PS5 as much as I'd like).

I don't think it's as good as Topspin 4 was at its time, but it's an enjoyable title in my opinion. I just hope the next one's not Topspin 2K37 after another long hiatus.

Does anyone know of a way to get a close up of the green +slope directions (not just the 2D overhead) which could be helpful on tee shots for par 3's and approach shots for other holes? EA has this built in but I'm not seeing it for K23.

When you use scout/zoom cam in 2K23, you should see the slopes and the grid on the green.

I also think there's a way to zoom into the green no matter where you are on a hole or if you don't have scout cam on, prior to hitting a shot. I don't remember which button it is...maybe clicking the left thumb stick?

Zoom is RT on PS5 when looking at the green, you can also use LT to zoom back out.

There's also a way to zoom in on the green when you're using the scout cam on longer holes (par-4s and 5s) to see what the green slopes are ahead of time, if you can't actually get the camera that far with a long club.

This is for PS5 - after you hit triangle to zoom in with scout cam on the landing area, click the right thumbstick. This will zoom in on the green, with the pin in the center of the screen.

Ok, turning scout cam on with UI off is basically what I'm looking for. Thanks.

Since some people have been talking about Topspin 2K25 over here, there is a reward for being a Topspin 2K25 & PGA Tour 2K23 player.

Anyone know of a way for when one plays as a pro to have the pro use a different golf ball type or is all of the earned stuff for "MyPlayer" only?

Pretty sure all earned gear/fittings/golf balls/etc. are only for use with your MyPlayer.

Just saw this from Take Two's annual report, in relation to any potential PGA 2K25 release:

There's no PGA 2K25 listed, like there was a PGA 2K23 in the listing when Take Two did this same report back in 2022. Guessing they're just not ready to announce the next edition yet, but it would have been nice to get a glimpse as to when a new game was on the way.
