The 30fps console thing has thrown a wrench in my analysisComment

Augusta wanted graphics. Fixed it for you haha. Wonder how much they played into this. If I remember correctly in the old tiger games you could’ve even use the boosts or spin.Comment

The biggest complaint by far in the other golf game was PS3 looking graphics so EA went after that. You remember that stupid looking hat you had to wear playing Augusta in some of the older TW games?Comment

But my point is it was the best looking at the time. Wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted EA to max out the frostbite engine for every asset they have on their property. Just spitballing, not trying to defend ea. just looking for some logic.Comment

And all my kvetching aside ..
If they somehow made a version of TW14 gameplay, but a bit more interesting and challenging even (shot types, etc) -- but matched it with the latest cutting edge visuals...
I think they'll have a hit on their hands -- even at 30fps (but I of course want more fps -- I always do)
I mean -- no lie -- breathtaking golf course visuals (looks to be the best ever, most likely) are nothing to shake a stick at. I'll be excited for sure.Comment

It’s more like having a hot wife who just bad in bed. Looks great and all but something’s a little fishy on the inside, kinda like this game

I think many of us (guilty as charged) are focusing too much on what we wish were different.
If this plays an enhanced brand of TW14 gameplay, with cutting edge graphics, I know I'll have a blast with it.
No matter what EA does, I'm sure some folks will still prefer other games or choices...which is why it's so great to have two current golf games, along side older ones folks can still enjoy as well!Last edited by scagwi; 02-11-2023, 11:28 AM.Comment

I think the delay in 3 click might have something to do with trying to figure out a way to incorporate tempo into that type of interface. I can't figure out how you can do anything other than power and direction.
Since it seems you will be able to use the left or right stick for different types of shots it might be a good idea to allow 3 click on all shots except for putting which you could choose left or right analog. Probably wishful thinking.
I meant tempo for putting.Last edited by lowpaiddonkey10; 02-11-2023, 12:07 PM.Comment

It's probably more like an enhanced brand of Rory gameplay with cutting edge graphics. Lots more contents and customization for sure, had to be expected after what, 8 years?Comment

The number of swings you can choose is nice but in some of the older games I think it was close to 20. 12 is a lot though very nice. Hopefully the golfer custom suite allows for much more than Rory in the way of changing your face.Comment

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Interview with Development Team - It's All About Gameplay
I have to be honest -- doing the face changing stuff is so low on my priority list.
If they have a bunch of general choices to choose from, I'm good.
I'm probably beat down on this after all the years of Perfect Golf, where everyone is a clone of each other, but with maybe a different color of the same shirt. lol
Don't get me wrong -- I loved the game face days of uploading an image and really making it "you" out there... Love to have that back, but honestly never expecting to get that sort of stuff again.Comment
