Yep. Fittings, skills, consumable golf balls, and you can use either analog or 3-click swing.

Played a match last night & it worked ok aside from my opponents Shot results kept coming to rest & then jumping 10-15 yards up the fairway.
I couldn’t get rid of the meters & ball arcs, does anyone know how to turn these off permanently as i can’t play that way.

Yeah, it's in the Display and HUD menu. You can turn off "Shot Setup Feedback" and it removes the meter and such:

Slow play is going to kill ranked matchmaking for me, just like it killed playing a weekend round of actual golf at the local muni...

It should not take 30 minutes to beat someone 4 & 3 in a 9-hole match.

2:30 is way to long to set up shot. Shouldn’t be more than 90 seconds tops.

I am having a ton more disconnects today. Can't get a 1v1 match in at all. Tried several times in a row, and I can only get thru 1 or 2 holes before the connection to the servers is lost.

Been a bad day. Quite a few crashes. Played one round where the putting animation downswing if you want to call it that was the length of a pitch shot. Turned the game off and it was fixed.

Just played someone in matchmaking who could carry drives 360 yards easy every time.

Hope the tour takes a random drug test after the match...

I've been getting back into It this week, and tonight I played my friend in private match for 2 rounds, one at Bay Hill and one at the incredible Cours d'Alene.

Great, close matches, and really reminded us that despite all of the shortcomings in so many parts of this game, when it really comes down to a great playing game of golf between 2 live opponents, the play on the course is in this game is the best we have so far, and EA has a lot to do to step up to at least match the realism and true sim competitiveness of playing 2k23 with a live opponent. We just wanted to keep going and going.

It's the little gameplay aspects that truly makes or breaks these golf games. I'm really hoping EA takes it to the next level, but if they don't, I'm happy with 2k.

Haha, I wondered the same! And I am serious...it was 360 CARRY, not total. Just nuts!

I assumed it's because they were using consumable golf balls with lots of added flight attributes to them, plus the Powerhouse archetype and all fittings that focus on added distance/power. And then he overpowered every shot to like 109%.

I can carry something like 293-310 with the default golf ball and fittings, and get to that higher end when certain skills activate. I use the Rhythm archetype.

I'm reminded why I don't play online games very much...being called a cheater, a loser, and basically every 4-letter word under the sun is not all that fun! Haha
