I was wondering how high I would have to bump up the AI scoring to start to get competitive results. I've been bumping it up 10 after each tournament, but I guess there's my answer.
The issue, as it appears to me anyway, is that the "AI" (using that term loosely) difficulty just accounts for what any 1 random player in the field can shoot in any 1 given round. For example, let's say AI difficulty of 75 means the lowest any player will go in a round is 5-under. However, because the rounds appear to be randomly distributed among all players in the field, it's unlikely that any 1 computer player will shoot 2-3 rounds of 5-under, which is why I'm always in 14th or 15th place after day 1, 10th or 11th after day 2, close to the lead on day 3, and then win by 8 strokes on Sunday (without ever really shooting anything other than 4-5 under each day). Because the guys that went 4-5 under on day 1 don't keep shooting that, the -5 scores get 'distributed' to other players in the field, so the lowest anyone's 72 hole score ever gets is 8-9 under (again, on an AI difficulty of 75 or so).
The programmers need to make it so that the "AI difficulty" corresponds to what 72-hole score any given player can shoot, if that isn't already how it's programmed. If that is how it's programmed, then it's not working as intended.
