G25 is the best "cheap" wheel you can get in my opinion, so you can't go wrong there.

Yes, 7 tracks. 3 ovals, 3 road courses, and Lowe's, which comes with both ovals and road courses. You get the Solstice as the rookie road course car, and the Legends car as the rookie oval car.

This is probably what you saw with regards to subscriptions, or if not, this tells you how much you get with each.

Yep that was it.. dunno why I couldn't find it this time around. Thanks

Hopefully down the road I'll upgrade to the G25.. currently using Logitech's Driving Force GT set, it gets the job done but the pedals are cheesy for sure. I think the GT wheel was molded after the G25 and lacks 1 FF motor?

        Re: iRacing

I've heard good things about the actual DFP GT wheel, but the pedals seem to be the weak spot. I think if you could purchase a decent set of pedals (which aren't really cheap), you could use those with the wheel and have a pretty nice setup.

Ok so right now the computer I have has 512 MB of Ram a 2.00 Ghz Processor and a 256 MB Video Card.

If I get my invite tommorow should I go ahead and get my one month to see if I like it and try to run it, or wait until I get my new computer to run it. I have a FF wheel I can use, but its not too great compared to the G25. I really don't like the Microsoft 360 wheel, but I can use it if necesary. So should I get the month as soon as I can or wait until I get my new computer setup, which will probably be at the end of month.

This is the specs that I'm an currently looking at for my new comp

Intel 2.4 Processor x2 (its a dual core)
          4 GB of Ram
Evga Geforce 8800 GT 1 GB Video Card

512mb of RAM might be a problem. Not sure what the minimum req is, but 512 sounds low. Depends what kind of 256mb video card it is, is it an 8800gt or 8600gt? If so, you should be fine.

512mb is somewhat low, 1.0gb would be the minimum for me imo.

Like was said above, the only thing that really bothers me is the ram. I have heard of people running the sim on very low spec computers, with everything turned down/off, but I'm not sure if I'd even find that worthwhile.

I'd probably wait if you're sure you'll be getting a new computer soon.

Still updating but I think this is the last part (legends and Solstice)

Any opinion on the Late Model, Chaos? I just cant wait to get into a test session and give the track a run with one of hte 2 starter cars.

                          Re: iRacing

I haven't spent enough time with the Late Model to really form a true opinion on it. I do love my short track racing, so I bet if I could drag myself away from the road courses for a bit, I'd enjoy it.

I have seen quite a few posts of people saying it's not quite as fun as the SK Modified, and that they're planning on just doing a couple late model races, so who knows. Maybe it doesn't have a good enough power to weight ratio to get people excited.

I know this really doesn't help you much, but if you're thinking about buying it, I'd say wait. Just enjoy what you have and see how all that goes.

                            Re: iRacing

Ya personally I've never had much interest in roadcourse racing..not really sure why.

After a little test session in both cars, the Legend model will probably be the one I'd spend alot of time in. Had a little spinout in my test session but the shorttrack was real fun

The Soltice felt and reacted like I'd expect it to. Idunno, it's just not my style of racing I guess but I wont bash or give a negative opinion on it.

I may wait a little longer with iRacing until they beef up the Nascar-type content (besides tracks). Atleast from what I took in my tired state, the game is definitley promising.. so many styles of racing to choose from. It's not like you have to buy each and every car, only ones that suit you.

With my lowerend card (6800GT 256mb) the fps was really stable at 52fps but I have 3gb of ram.
