So let me get this straight, you rented the game played it on rookie, thought it was too easy and took it back. Nobody needs to play on rookie, nobody. Unless you're 11 or under.

Re: Nascar 09 - Running with drones

First I like to say I like this game, last year i took nascar 2008 back in first week so disappointed, just trying to get a hang of setups.

Anyone else have a good balance on the time (ex.X2) tire and fuel wear. I put it at X2 on a 50% race for trucks, and AI trucks were pitting way earlier than me? anyone else see this, and if so what should I adjust this too for race length?

      Thanks for help!!

not to thread jack or anythinng but I run on 50% with x3 wear but yet again I'm in Sprint cup so for trucks, I say go with 60% and x3

I really hope you don't apply that type of mindset in an online race.

Last night, I ran 3 races... In the first race, all the guys in the room thought they were Kyle Busch and needed to move everyone out of the way (causing caution after caution). In the next two races a found a good group of guys that ran clean, knew how to hold a line and made great passes.

I use the Mark Martin rule of thumb in racing. "If I can't pass you cleanly, I won't pass you."

I dont even try and race NASCAR online. I just cant imagine it works too well. I dont have enough friends that play NASCAR online. Forza is a different story though.

And just so were clear. Im not talking about tearing a guys bumper off. Giving a little tap here and there is not a crime. I just feel like the black falg is too sensitive in this game. I get flagged when I feel I dont deserve one or when I accidentally hit someone.

To the guys seeing cautions-- Im just not seeing any AI caused cautions. I ran 50 laps at Daytona, 75 at Bristol and 75 at Martinsville. I think I seen one AI caused yellow in all those laps.

I play legend with AI set to hard. Yellow only. Maybe having black flags off is affecting AI yellow? IDK, but Im not seeing any.

                    Pro/Legend and Hard AI

4 crashes and none by me, tire wear seemed to be the reason for them. (Flags were set to full)

That isn't bashing it, it is pretty much the truth unless you play with os guys. I played a few races today and it isn't great with most people.

there isn't a game in the world that works well playing with morons... of course you have to play with a good group of guys. That should be a given when you go online.

I think your giving the guy a free pass on comments that he probably has no business making if he hasn't tried it online.

Re: Nascar 09 - Running with drones

Well, to close on this...I have run 3 races with PRO/Veteran (Except steering help), adaptive AI off, tire wear 2X. And I begun to see some action on the track, exception of Daytona where the cars raced too perfectely. Good to know the game is better in upper levels.

There are still some problems with the game. Even with the Adaptative AI off, I still have the cars that run at -20 miles during or after pit stops. I found a problem with the controller when you loose your charge on the wireless...the image froze but the game continue. It doesn't come back..***ined my 10 position at Las Vegas and 2 hours of play. I find the black flags to be very intrusive...most of the time I don't know why I get one. I get my black flags on the pits entrance. The game don't give very good informations on the speed limit. A word from the spotter, that I can't understand 50% of the time because he speaks with an accent (Text option on the spotter ? that exist in the game).

Thinking of buying it anyway. More happy about it...although I don't think it deserve a 8.5.

What level do you have the A.I. drivers on?

I have my settings on Pro/Legend, No assist, A.I. at Normal, Adaptive A.I. off, running 40% of the race with 3X wear and I have seen 1 caution in 8 races in the truck series that was brought on by the CPU. Even that one I'm not entirely sure it wasn't caused by me since I was drafting at Daytona in the first race of the year and he started to get loose down the back stretch with me obviously on his bumper and he smacked the wall and it was only a one car wreck. I tried bumping up to A.I. "Hard" but I'm not to confident yet in my adjustment skills and found myself 4 seconds behind the leader at Kansas before I even hit turn 2. With A.I. at "Normal" I still have found it somewhat challenging more less with hitting the right set up, I start out at "Veteran" then make minor adjustments from there I end up running almost double the laps in practice than the race is actually scheduled.

I have Pro/Veteran, normal AI. 75% of the race at 2X wear. To be frank, most of the actions happens after lap 50-75, when the race is more tight and after two pit stops or so...With 40% of the race you might no see anything. And I am not sure there are any crashes on the superspeedways.

It seems I have run my last races with adaptive AI on...So it doesn't affect the actions, but it cause the waiting and slowlyness problem. Each time you pit the cars are letting you get back to where you were before...slowing down -20 or -30miles an hour (And I get blackflag a lot because of those turtles). I find the system quite ridiculous and not very bright.

IMO , which was proven correct this weekend when I attempted to race online, people are IDIOTS. Trying to find a room of legit racers was impossible after about 15 attempts. Unfortuntely none of my online CLEAN racers from Forza play NASCAR. So Im stuck joining random lobbies.

Youll have to explain how I lose "cred" because of that?
