    What a shame. http://www.news.com.au/sport/motorsp...-1227109825259

Caterham locked their shop to employees. Marussia has filed bankruptcy. There's talk these two teams might go away soon.

All about the Benjamins I guess....

That's unfortunate if it happens. F1 should be trying to grow outside Europe, esp here in the States, but it'll be difficult if it's Mercedes, then everybody else.

McLaren is making me sad this year. Ridiculous how slow they've been so far. I didn't expect them to compete for a top 3 in the championship, but qualifying only ahead of Marussia is awful.

That said, I am getting a good laugh at Red Bull whining about everything.

Apparently, a fan was killed during this brutal crash in the VLN Endurance race at the Ring yesterday.

Appropriate that this thread would resurface today. Besides NASCAR at Martinsville:

IndyCar season opener at St Pete. Kicking myself for missing the end.
MotoGP opener at Losail. Glad to see Val. Rossi win.
F1 at Malaysia. Vettel and Ferrari back in form, ending the Mercedes dominance.
MXGP at Argentina, SX at St Louis.

Hamilton wins again. Rosberg whines after the race claiming Hamilton was slowing him down.

I'm already tiring of watching F1. Basically whoever gets pole wins, as the race becomes follow the leader.

Also, best bet is Rosberg or Hamilton every time. It'd be like NASCAR having either teammates Johnson or Gordon winning every single race.

                      Borrrrring.

Well, the Indy 500 has been a real adventure so far and the race hasn't even started yet. Chevrolets are flipping over. Helio had a really awful crash. Hinch apparently nearly died from bleeding after his crash yesterday, but was fortunately stabilized and treated in the ICU in time. Geez...

I'm a former NASCAR follower but have lost interest in the last two years. I'm now an avid follower of the Blancpain GT Series.

The Blancpain GT Series is a sports car racing series. It features grand tourer racing cars modified from production road cars complying with the FIA's GT3 regulations. The series is divided into two separate championships, the Blancpain Sprint Series and the Blancpain Endurance Series.

Yes, Blancpain GT a great series. They have the 24 hrs of Spa and 1000km (now 6 hrs, I think) at Nurburgring, among other great and classic Euro tracks. The Endurance side of it is at Silverstone this weekend, IIRC.

...which leads me to my bigger point that this is the Crown Jewel of Auto Racing weekend!

                            -Monaco GP
                            -Indy 500
-Whatever they're calling the once NASCAR World 600 this year

Add to that MXGP @ Matterly Basin (minus Villopoto, again...bummer!), WRC @ Portugal and Glen Helen MX Nationals along with support races and things I'm forgetting and there's a lot to watch this weekend!

Recently got into following F1. NASCAR just doesn't interest me like it used to. Always been an IRL fan. Have been a Penske fan. Watched the Monaco GP today and I would have been irate if I was Lewis Hamilton. Can't remember seeing a driver with that big of lead then lose.
