If he is talking about full replays after a race...its 100% as evidenced by BS's video above. If he is talking about jumping out and hitting replay during a time trial, its about 9 seconds also. I just checked and it would only go back approximately 9 seconds.(PC version)

I don't understand why people are saying there's no crowd noise. I'm playing on PC and definitely hear crowd noise when I drive past a part with people.

              Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)

I have to reserve my impressions for this game until I get more laps in. But I think coming from rfactor I have been a little spoiled. Plus My F430 Wheel feels sooo much better than the 360 wheel.

Right now I am excited with the "New car smell" and I have to reserve my opinion until that wears off.

One thing I can say though is that if you are trying to play this with a controller I wish you the best, it can be done but you are going to need the patience of Job. Now I have to come up with a setup for my 360 wheel that is comfortable (my lap is not cutting it).

Edit: Anyone know why I can't chat? I have not changed any settings?

BC--how does it look on your 360? Are you playing with all assists off? With all assists off does it feel like a true sim to you?
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

This game is a real challenge with the PS3 controller and no driver aids. I'm having a hard time keeping up with intermediate AI. It could be that I'm no good but I'm not gonna say that

Glad that it's a challenge. I don't have a wheel either, so I look forward to messing around with it.

I'm not a PC gamer so I no nothing about Rfactor besides that it's supposed to be really good, but with the PS3 controller and no ABS or traction control this game feels 'sim' enough for me. Quite frankly I'm getting my tail kicked trying to find the limit. I've never felt like this playing an F1 game. I don't care what anyone says this game punishes you for not respecting the slow corners. Quick on the throttle and you will fail. It's that simple. Hate to sound like a broken record but the application of the slow corner physics is what makes this game special. Check the hairpin in Montreal for confirmation. You can't just bull around it you gotta be patient.

The graphics on PS3 are decent. I assume they would be similar on 360. The lighting effects take the cake. It's difficult to see well in 2nd practice cause of the lighting. Morning practice the sun is low so it's not as bright. I'm disappointed in how they implemented the mirrors. you have to use the right stick to look over and use them and they look like crap. The mirrors from the PS2 days could give these a run and I'm not exaggerating.

                      (I only race in cockpit)

It looks stunning on the 360, no frame rates issues what so ever. All assist off with cockpit view is the only way to go for me. Coming from PC racing games it's hard for me to call it a full sim but it's more sim than arcade with all aids off.

I have no problem with the sim/arcade combo if it helps the casual non F1 fan become one.

Ya. I think the game does a great job for people that just want to race but don't want to fight the controls or physics. There's enough threat of spinning out, wrecking and missing corners to provide a challenge without being frustrating.

Well said JRod. I have no problem with it at all and it's kind of what I expected. It's great seeing this many people in the racing forums.

I'm not blown away by the graphics on PS3 for some reason but the frame rate is consitantly close to 30fps it seems. You can just see that 60fps would have made this game amazing but with so many cars on track that had to be a challenge.

There is some nice detail in the garage that you can see using the free look stick, but I don't like what they did with the mirrors I'm actually shocked they didn't get this right for cockpit racers.
