I'm done with it, disappointed. The "new" feeling wore off quickly and I listed it on eBay. I hope there's a patch for those hanging in there, just the game feels very unfinished.

This game needs a huge patch but I'm not sure if the patch will fix so many glaring issues.
So now it's on to FIFA 11 and NCAA 11.Comment

The tire punctures are getting a bit annoying. Had three in Catalunya.
Also waiting for some CPU players to pit since some of them don't at all.
Still like the game, but the patch cannot come soon enough.Last edited by Kully; 09-29-2010, 01:35 PM.Comment

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
I love this game, I've been playing the life out of it. I'm just curious, how long of races are you guys doing in career mode? I do 50% because it prevents it from being a sprint and allows for mistakes to occur. Also, when finished with a race, I feel like I've achieved something after investing about an hour into a race. Even if I finish in last, I can point to areas where I did well and areas where I can improve. I have only gotten through 4 or 5 career races so far, but I'm getting better with each one.Comment

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
We are still racing the heck out of this game online right now. Obviously the patch will make a big difference, but this game is still getting a ton of playing time. I'm not blind to some of the issues, but there are plenty of ways to enjoy this title, while we wait for the patch( at least for our group) On the PC version, they are already starting to bust out new mods on a daily basis. New car textures, 85% tire grip mod, new lighting mod, new skins...etc...etc.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

Well, right now they have released new textures for the cars theselves. They have also found a way to re-do all the track signs and lighting. As far as Career, we have not touched it yet, as we are only only doing MP and TT. They have released new FOV and race view cams also.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

I'm not a huge fan of any single player mode anymore. My last attempt was on Forza 3 and it got boring quick. F1 2010 single player sounds cool if you're into the answer this question right and do this next, type deal. (I used my North Carolina accent there. LOL)
I'm really just looking for some online fun against other humans and that's pretty much where I'll stay. Unfortunately, I only have two fellow OS drivers on my friend's list.Last edited by RunN1st; 09-29-2010, 06:04 PM."The older I get, the faster I was!"

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
Your 'unfinished' comment sums up my feelings exactly. I had the honeymoon feeling for about 3 days because the car is so fun to drive and the physics engine is very nice, but when you look at the obvious shortcuts Codemasters used and the obvious bugs and flaws they chose to ignore in order to get this game to press it leaves me very disappointed. AI cars not pitting. Timing and scoring jacked the eff up. No sector times during the race. It's too much. Race strategy is null and void because you don't know if the guy behind you is 20sec or 30sec behind. As F1 fans we understand that that 10 second gap means a lot when it comes to pit strategy and race pace adjustments.
This game needs a huge patch but I'm not sure if the patch will fix so many glaring issues.

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
I think all people see are the negative post about the game, and that has a lot of people holding off on buying the game until they see what type of patch CM releases. It's doing pretty well as far as sales go, but I think it would have done a lot better had the game not had so many issues obviously. This title may not be perfect right now, but if they patch it correctly, you will see a lot of people coming back to it.
PC version
Once they patch it, and you start seeing these incredible mods rolling out, you will start to see a large community racing this title. I am literally blown away by the mods out already( yes I keep talking about them ) and it will only get better.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

Hey Lakers 24/7 What platform are you on? If you are on the 360 leave me your GT so I can link up with you online or anyone else who plays on the 360 can add me or leave your GT here.
On a different note, this game is far from unplayable...One thing I have learned is to stay away from the Codemaster forums(that place is one big negative mess right now).
It seems like guys are just looking for the bugs instead of finding ways to enjoy it (especially if you plan on keeping the game).GT: BIG CAROLINA23

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
Im playing on the 360 and unless it has something to do with the length of the races, i havent seen most of the bugs mentioned. Are they mostly for PC or am i not racing long enough. I race on 30-50% in career. I have seen plenty of AI crashes, i have seen sector times during races, and i have not had the pit stop bug happen to me ....yet lol. Just wondering if maybe they rushed one version and not the other??Comment

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
NCAA 11 feels even more rushed and flawed IMO. Can't play a football game in which the defense is nonexistent among all of the other issues. You say there's no strategy in F1, but there's no strategy in NCAA either because the AI play calling is so terrible. You're also very restricted in what you can do strategy wise anyway. No shells, no shading inside/outside, no matchup assignments, can't bluff formations, etc. But, hey people still enjoy that appearantly, so the same can be said for F1 2010, it's all a matter of perspective.
Point taken but NCAA has been patched several times and the slider adjustments help it out a lot. There are issues on defense especially with zone coverage, but it's hard compare some of those issues with the issues in F1 2010.
*AI cars not pitting. I mean come on seriously.
*AI cars not fully affected by fuel sim in less than 100% races distances.
(ex: only 50% fuel at 50% race distance while the user is scaled at 100%)
*Incorrect sector times. (In F1 time is everything. In any form of motor sport tbh)
* AI rubber banding. (I've seen it)
Just the AI cars not pitting is comparable to the fatigue glitch in NCAA 10 last year. That was a game killer for me so I guess your right about a matter of perspective. Maybe I'm more anal about F1 and you would be more so about football who knows.
And it's not a coincidence that most of the ppl who are really loving this game are playing a lot online. More power to them and I'm happy that they are enjoying the title. I just refuse to bust my tail for whatever race distance I choose to race and have the car I've been fighting with the whole time decide not to pit for new tires without paying a penalty. That's not F1. I'm optimistic about the patch but I feel I have the right to voice my disappointment.Comment
