    Re: iRacing after 2+ years

I've had a decent run going in the NASCAR iRacing Series. Followed up the 6th at New Hampshire with a 9th at Indy. I would have won the damn thing if not for getting caught up in an early accident. I wound up laps down but when I got back on track, I got a few laps back on my own because I was that much faster than the leaders. If I had stayed clean, it would have been a possible breeze to the win.

Pocono sucked. Was running top 10 and the two guys in front of me decided to get into each other. It was either them, the guy behind me, or the wall. I think some of all 3 got me and my day was basically done. I skipped Watkins Glen and Bristol. But went out and got an 8th at Michigan last week. It was another race that went alright but could have gone better. Guy ran into me under caution when his monitor blacked out. Car was pretty loose after that and I couldn't get it tight enough. It cost me several positions later in runs when I was just trying to keep it straight.

I don't expect much at Darlington.

Just and old Audi. I'm holding out for some day/night, rain, tire compound changes.

My hopes weren't too high, but that was still disappointing. I was hoping for a full blown series of some sort. Guess we'll see what next week brings.

I'm showing my age here to you youngsters, but that car won the first ever race I saw in person. The IMSA GT series raced at Heartland Park in Topeka back in 1989. Somewhere there's a picture of 7-year-old me next to the Audi.

Day/night is still a ways out because they need to fully be on DX11.

Rain, I'm not sure at all on, but I'm more ovals than road still.

Speaking of tires, I think they overdid the rubber a bit this time. I hear it pelting my car way too much, but it was worth it because I got another 6th place finish. One of these days I might actually get a top 5 in NiS.

Does iracing not offer the buy one/get one anymore for current members? My membership expired in October, so I figured that I would just wait for the black Friday sale, but I never seen that offer.

They had a 25% off sale and they had something with credits somewhere along the way because I bought them. I haven't really done much with it since early December. I should probably get warmed up again if I'm going to run the iRacing Series again.

So know this thread hasn't been updated in awhile but Dirt is finally here. And boy ol boy am I having a blast racing it. I never have been a huge fan of the pavement racing on iRacing but the dirt will keep me around for the foreseeable future. Patiently waiting for the non-wing sprint and hoping they have something smaller then 1/2 mile in the works.

I have been having so much fun racing Dirt. It has just been so natural to me growing up around dirt racing. By far the best things they have ever done, and maybe the best out of any sim. It makes Ratbag and Rfactor Mods look like total junk.

once I head iRacing was getting into the dirt aspect, I went out and bought a gaming computer and updated my steering wheel and stuff. It is something truly awesome and i have spent many hours turning laps upon laps with the late models. Its been a long time coming having a realistic game or simulator like this. My gf doesn't nessecarily see value in it but I can't get enough of it. In my free time i'm balancing either iracing and MLB the show.

You get a dirt version of a stock and legend free and one track free. It'd cost you $12 each for the other content currently available: 3 tracks (Eldora, Volusia, and Williams Grove) and 2 cars (Late model with 3 variations and Sprint car with 3 variations). So you could get everything for $55, which gets you 10% off plus your subscription fee.

I've tried it a bit, but I don't plan on getting into it seriously until they separate the licenses. I'm not going to trash what average iRating I have in oval for the sake of running dirt.

I'm more of an asphalt/concrete oval guy any way. Lead a large chunk of Martinsville and overdrove it the last 50 laps and only managed a 6th. The new physics on the car made it feel pretty good, at least to me, and hoping it carries through to Texas.

I'm excited to give dirt a try, but my account just expired and it seems like they are only giving promotions to new sign ups. Looks like I'm in a stare-down context with iracing, waiting to renew my account.
