I thought I was reading it had too much grip? Sounds like a disaster, LOL.

Could just be on the bigger tracks. I ran some laps at Richmond earlier and thought the fixed set was pretty solid.

I'd say maybe they're heating the track up and causing it to get slick, but given how many laps they've run under caution, I doubt that's the case.

Edit: they just had a 9 lap green flag run, amazing. 11 caution on lap 88.

LOL, I see top split NiS open had 23 cautions with 115 out of 200 laps ran under caution. What a disaster.

Yeah, I think I would have just said screw my iRating and quit. I know some of those top guys would lose a ton in that case, but man, I just couldn't do it. It looks like they had two green flag runs longer than 5 laps. One that was 9 laps and one that was 8 laps. Just insane.

Second to last split had a 70 lap green flag run, followed by a 53 lap green flag run to end the race. Of course the majority of the field was multiple laps down, but hey, gotta find the positives where you can.

EDIT: Also, the set likely changed with the new build so that will factor into things.

Just saw Neebs say he's doing 195 in the corners at Charlotte in the cup car without lifting. For reference, the lap record is 198 mph.

Guess it's time to start hoping iRacing just screwed something and they'll be fixing it shortly. Not going to be very much fun if we're running ridiculously fast everywhere.
I converted my lap time to a speed and it was 195.75 MPH, more than 10 MPH short of the current record set by Gordon. So it is faster than it was, but doesn't seem unrealistic. You'd have to get another 2 seconds off to beat the current record. I don't know if a setup could get you down to a sub-35 lap there.

But, not too far off of the August pole time, but like I said, it was cloudy, like it looked like it was going to storm so plenty of benefits elsewhere I'm sure.

As for that Richmond race maybe iRacing went with that low downforce package?

I wasn't it's unrealistic for you to be going that fast at MIS, just that the build as a whole seems faster. Now Charlotte on the other hand... Probably shouldn't be running low 26s in race trim around there.

Nah, there were no aero changes this build. Just people not being used to the track and updated tire model. It can get pretty slick at times and when the rear end comes around, you're done for. Or at least I am.

Anyway, assuming I'm not too tired, I think I'm going to give NiS a shot tonight. Might as well try out the track in race conditions, even though I'm pretty slow it seems.

There needs to be a lot more aeropush in this game in stock cars on ovals.. It would help to mitigate the ridiculous draft lock that we see sometimes.

What's strange is it's there in the IndyCar. Will be awesome when the Gen6 gets it, even though it'll probably make passing tougher.

Well, it's good to see some things haven't changed. Can aways count on multiple maintance periods.

Yeah, you can definitely feel it in the Indy Car. Very true.

Tonight is going to be interesting. I'm about to jump on now. I haven't practiced with the new build yet and the race is only an hour away!

Well, I am going to run NiS tonight. Qualified with a 21.04x, which is about 2 tenths off my best lap. Screwed up entry into 3 and slid up a little bit. Not horrible, but I would have liked to have least been in the 20s.

Little worried about the storms in the area. We've got some just south currently, and there's more to the west. Hoping I don't lose power.

Edit: Pole in my split is a 20.598. . I am the 15 car, but man that's depressing.

Yeah, it's tough under braking. Then tight middle for me, and loose off because I'm cranking the wheel a ton to get it turned.

3 cautions by lap 19. Woo iPacing!

                              EDIT 1: 4 by lap 30

EDIT 2: Well, just did exactly what I didn't want to and spun on my own heading into turn 1. Over corrected and bounced off the outside wall. Took at least one car with me. 35 minutes of required repairs means race over. Sigh.

Don't really care that I screwed my own race up, just hate that someone else hit me.

Somehow I finished 8th with a junked car and went from 18th to 8th over the final five laps. They were wrecking everywhere!
