Looking at this game, I wonder why they can't deliver 60fps on consoles.

Re: Shift 2 Unleashed Impressions
Here's a basic tuning tip i found on the NFS Shift forums.
"Why the cars feel floaty are in the game and can be ***ed easily. For whatever reason when you buy and build a car the default spring rate settings are at their softest and the steering lock in the tuning section for the car is set to 20 which is way to low. I a**usted the steering lock to 25-28 and simply moved all the sliders for spring rates to the middle position. Doing this will eliminate about 90% of the floating and bring the cars handling to life".
This made a nice difference in handling for me.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Will be posting files and edits in a few, it will have it's own thread, so people won't overlook it and not the fix.Comment

Re: Shift 2 Unleashed Impressions
The more I drive the more the handling is really starting to get to me.
I understand with the sensitivity turned down it like it better, but when I make a mistake and hit the brakes I shouldn't go into a fishtail that takes me 200 yards to correct.
Maybe that's sim, maybe it's not, but it is annoying to me.Comment

Re: Shift 2 Unleashed Impressions
For anyone trying to adjust the settings for the control setup this website (http://captainstarball.com/news/shif...rol-tweakguide) has settings for the 360 version of the game, that make the handling better than the out-of-the box control setup.
Check it out if anyone wants a better handling game.Comment

Re: Shift 2 Unleashed Impressions
After playing with the Lotus on Forza, GT, and Shift, I've come to the conclusion that without extensive work, the car is a piece of garbage. Feels just as ****ty as it was in GT5.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Shift 2 Unleashed Impressions
Plays a few hours with the controller last night. As expected it is much twitchier than the wheel.
Again it seems the devs have also put the option menu in some out of the way place that cannot be accessed from the pause menu - where you might be able to immediately feel your changes without having to jump through a bunch of save/load screens.
I was messing with just the dead zone, steering and speed sensitivity to try and find a sweet spot that works across the board with no car tuning. I believe the more the speed sensitivity is turned down the more immediate 'feel' you have when turning.
The speed setting should mean the faster you are moving the less sensitive the stick becomes for turning. At high speeds a little tap won't send you flying but it also seems to add some sluggishness on sharp turns.
Right now I am at 50% steering sensativity and 0 for steering speed settings and my dead zone 10 and closer to what I'm used to in Forza. I will experiment some more but wondering if anyone has found a good mix.Last edited by lnin0; 04-02-2011, 09:22 PM.Comment
