Ladder Rules and Guidelines
Sign-up is open to anyone on Operation Sports. If you do sign up, joining the in-game Operation Sports Car Club [OpSp] is encouraged, but not required.
Races are to be held at least once a week on a commonly-agreed-upon weekday. I propose Wednesdays at 10:00 PM EDT. Special events, should we decide to do them (hypothetical examples: an hour-long race at Le Mans) might be scheduled on a different agreed-upon date to allot more time and availability. Race starting grid to initially be determined at random; if there is enough interest, a qualifying step for each race to determine starting order can be introduced.
Race results scoring is as follows: 1 point for an appearance, 1 point for last place, and 1 additional point for each place finished ahead of last place.
An additional 1 point can be awarded per-race for safe driving, which we'll define as 1,000 (or fewer) Credits worth of damage AND not causing a catastrophic wreck which knocks one or more players effectively out of the competition; honor policy on reporting that to me, I'll be managing the score table. In general, use common sense when driving; don't fish tail anyone, intentionally smash into the rear of someone's car, etc.
The score table (and consequently, also the membership table) is publicly available for viewing at this link.
Circuit races (whether the goal condition be lap count or time completion) are subject to a first-lap restart rule; that being, if there is a catastrophic wreck on the first lap which affects more than one driver, the race is to be restarted and the previous results discarded.
At least four drivers to a race. In the event of more than sixteen people attempting to sign up for a single race, the sixteen with the highest points standing in the league will be chosen. Tiebreak will be best hotlap time on the track, as determined on the Forza Motorsport 4 leaderboards. In the event of overwhelming demand for a race (which we'll define as at least 20 entries), simultaneous races can be organized for the league in two evenly-divided and separate lobbies, with both being scored. (We could potentially do heats as well, but we'll cross that bridge if and when we get there).
There will initially be no rules regarding any driving assists. Use what you are comfortable with. I may revisit the driving line assist in particular later, however.
Finally, when you sign up, pick a number and put it on the side of the car you use in the race. No duplicate number entries. This rule is just for fun, admittedly.

Any interest? Drop your name here.
EDIT: current sign-up list is on the linked Google Doc.
