I'm gonna pop in the free version of Sega GT that came with the xbox, but I remember hating it when I tried it after getting the box. Online play won't help a game I don't like

I rented the original Sega GT, it was OK, but with the online version, is it the whole game + the online thing, or do you have to have both games?>

it was only 20 bucks, so i figured it would keep me occupied till gt4 comes out.
