Re: Just picked up Sega GT Online.

I haven't had a chance to play this game yet, but I've heard some bad things:

    - No pink slip races. You can only race for cash
    - Bad graphics on a bunch of the tracks
    - When racing online, the race ENDS when the 1st place racer crosses the finish line. There's no battle for 2nd, 3rd, etc.

Again, I haven't played it yet, but if that last item is true, I can't imagine I'll be picking up this game. Not being able to finish the race if you're not in 1st place seems incomprehensible to me. I wasn't the biggest Sega GT fan, but I LOVE PGR2, so I was thinking about picking this one up. For now, I'll have to hold off. I've got to read a review to learn more about the options....

Not to mention, from what I've heard, there's no way to restrict car classes online? What kind of noise is that?

I'm not too sure about this one, but I should have it from gamefly in a few days...

I played a few races last night and found it to lack any sense of speed. I then decided to take the opportunity to send my xbox in for repairs, so i gotta wait a week or so to give more impressions. But so far the game is kinda hokey

There's the one spot I'll defend Sega GT: the handling model. PGR2, while fast and fun, is not even CLOSE to being realistic. While Sega GT might lack a sense of speed, you might just be used to doing warp-5 around tracks in PGR2. In reality, you couldn't go nearly as fast around those tracks as you do in PGR2, whereas in Sega GT you're having to worry about some real-world physics (which naturally slow the game down a tad to avoid getting over-the-top arcade like PGR2 is in some cases).

PGR2 is far and away a better game than Sega GT 2002 (haven't played Online version yet), but for realism in the handling and sense of speed (realistic speed, not "holy CRAP this feels fast!!!!" speed), Sega GT smokes PGR2.

That's an absolute joke if true. The game will become a pathetic contest of morons bouncing 1,000-horsepower Skylines off walls instead of racing. I won't pay $2 for that, let alone $20, especially with the brilliant Project Gotham Racing 2 still having tremendous legs with me.
