So I had a cool little thing happen. I went to start practice 2 in Spain and a notice comes up and Jeff also gets on the radio and says that we have an electrical fault and I can't go out till they get it sorted. There was a little countdown clock. I think it was 10 minutes. So I sat in the car/pits for ten minutes waiting till it got fixed then went out. Thought that was cool, I've never had that happen before.

I did a 25% exhibit race noticed something really cool, I went off track in the gravel and I put a trail of dirt on the track. I also saw it in the replay as well really nice touch.

I'll have to watch for that. I haven't seen that yet. I've seen gravel, and grass sticking to the tires, but never seen it sticking to the track when I rejoined. Never looked either though. Nice touch indeed.

My favorite part still of getting out of the racing line, getting into the grass, or gravel is the loss of grip until you clean those tires off, or get back on the line. Love it. Just a fantastic job.

Just for information purposes. There is a bug that CodeMasters is aware of with the Mclaren Honda in Career mode. This bug does not allow the engine upgrades to actually have any effect on the car, even if they are placed onto the car. They are trying to get a hot fix out as quick as possible.

I will keep you all updated when I get more info.

It blew my mind. This is a feature should be PC2, it happened late in the race with good rubber on track. But it was definitely there and stayed for the last couple of laps.

Seems pretty realistic to me, considering McLaren's current plight with its Honda engines.

Oh Lt Dan - that Bahrain story kills me! That sucks man!

Well guys, I do believe congratulations are in order - I earned my first podium!!! (in Career mode)

Took 3rd in China behind Bottas and Vettel. I've joined Williams Racing, and Stroll is my teammate (soon to be second driver). Playing at 60% AI, with low brake assist and low traction control.

That said, I think a podium this early though is a little ambitious, so I'm going to bump it up to 75% AI, and I've turned off racing line and mini map. Not quite ready to give up traction control and breaking assist yet though!

Did I hear someone say that PC has a Photo Mode?? Gah! I'm on PS4 and I would LOVE a Photo Mode - dang it! But that's about the only complaint I have - I am loving this game!

I've yet to get a chance to play with my wife gone... but when I do I'm gonna crank up the Surround Sound and feel it shake. I played Project Cars like that last year, and it's literally a different game when you do that.

(I've got PC2 on preorder, looking forward to that, too).

I'm on PS4, (Chairman7w) feel free to look me up and let's race!

Damn man, that is impressive. I'm just under way in my career and trying to figure out where to make my upgrades, how to amass the most points to make upgrades and how to stay in the pack racing...all against 40 AI..yep I am a newby... but loving it all...

@Chairman7w I know what you mean about surround sound. I do that sometimes when my wife is out. I did it on PC1 and loved it. Will definitely need to try on this title and PC2 in two weeks YES getting so closer.

Thanks man - but keep in mind I also joined Williams. Wasn't like I started out with McClaren or something... LOL

Potential bug I ran into last night that caused a major problem.

Career race 2 in China, driving for Haas. Practice and Qualifying were pretty much all rain sessions. I run 50% races and the first portion of the race started dry and all was good, but then it started to rain lightly. I managed a few laps on dry tires until it looked like it was time to pit for intermediates. Other midfield cars darted to the pits which I assumed would be to make the change to intermediates as well, except they all went back on dry tires while I was the only car on intermediates....

While that was odd, the problem became worse while the rain continued, the AI were running dry tires and turning times you would expect for a dry track, while I was running 20 seconds slower a lap on inters. To compund the issue, the inters were like driving on ice. After 2 laps, I went back in and put dry tires on and still had 0 traction since it was so wet. All along the AI just kept rolling on dry tires and setting great times. I just retired the car as the race was ruined at this point, I was already a lap down and could not drive the car at all.

Hopefully this was a one off thing. Overall, still loving the game but if this becomes a thing, wet races could be ruined until they fix it.

HUGE insight... racing the same team... will keep an eye on it for wet racing. Also running on 50%... Hope the devs read this forum

Oops!! Looks like I was mistaken - I was only at 50 AI. I botched the Qualifying, and still took a 5th place finish in Bahrain. I went to check afterwards and it was only at 50 AI.

I have switched it to 65 now, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes this week in Russia. Still rockin' that low brake assist and low traction control, though, no f&^%s givin'.

Question, did the race stewards turn DRS off because the track was too wet? It's possible that you switched to inters too early.

The devs said this year that the weather model was going to be more dynamic. For example, a race where it could rain the whole race, but the rain would be light enough that you could still stay on slicks.

That is a good question, I cannot say for sure it was disabled. On the lap I pitted I was just over 1 second behind the DRS line so I didn't have it.

There was noticeable spray coming off the tires and quite a bit of rain, under previous titles, you would have to be in inters for the conditions we were in which is why I made the change. Even if I was slightly early on the change, other AI cars should of put them on in the coming laps to match the conditions but they didn't. Plus once I went back into the pits to put medium tires back on, the car was a disaster and you couldn't drive it because the track was to slick
