Good news for this coming season of NCAA Football, guys. I just talked to FAIRDALE KINGS. The console he used to create last year's NCAA Football rosters is dead. How can that be good? Well...because he has a NEW console now...one that has not yet been "tagged". So...we'll have at least another season of named rosters from our good friend, FAIRDALE KINGS. Like Fiddy though - we'll have to keep him hidden.

Just curious, but if we keep the old harddrive on a new console will the saves not corrupt or does it need to be a new console and HD?Good news for this coming season of NCAA Football, guys. The old HDD will be fine.
Nothing it tagged with it at all. All saves are tied to 2 things, your XBL name and your console ID.Comment

Re: Houston, we have a problem (Roster transfers not working on XBox 360 any longer)
Hey guys, I'm a bit out of the loop (my 360 actually died earlier this week courtesy of Microsoft's newest "update") and so I was wondering if someone could explain to me what they mean when they say their console has been "tagged".
Does this mean that anybody who shares game saves (either by transfering from their 360 to their computer or from their computer to their 360) gets their console "tagged"? And if so, what happens as a result of this?Comment

Re: Houston, we have a problem (Roster transfers not working on XBox 360 any longer)
I don't exactly get the tagged thing, but I can explain the what's and the why's.Hey guys, I'm a bit out of the loop (my 360 actually died earlier this week courtesy of Microsoft's newest "update") and so I was wondering if someone could explain to me what they mean when they say their console has been "tagged".

Basically with the new update, the saves are becoming corrupt because they are missing something with the Live ID or Console ID when they land on a new system. Meaning that if you made the file, you'd be fine, but I would have issues with it. This of course is only if your console is tagged.
The why, people were paying money (seriously) to transfer saves back and forth to up their gamerscore. So that's why this is occuring to stop achievement whoring to an extent. The consequence is roster files are included as a game save, meaning they are no longer working.
Hoped that helped.Comment

Re: Houston, we have a problem (Roster transfers not working on XBox 360 any longer)
What it means is that if you have EVER uploaded a file to 360gamesaves.com or had someone else upload a game save you created, your console is now tagged, and any game save containing your console ID number can only be used on your console.Hey guys, I'm a bit out of the loop (my 360 actually died earlier this week courtesy of Microsoft's newest "update") and so I was wondering if someone could explain to me what they mean when they say their console has been "tagged".

So to be clear, new console and new XBL name would be needed for us "Tagged" guys? or just new console which has the new serial number obviously and the old XBL name can be used?Gamertag and PSN Name: RomanCaesarComment

Re: Houston, we have a problem (Roster transfers not working on XBox 360 any longer)
The working theory is that MS went to 360gamesaves.com and downloaded their content and then tagged those who uploaded or had their files uploaded without their knowledge.Hey guys, I'm a bit out of the loop (my 360 actually died earlier this week courtesy of Microsoft's newest "update") and so I was wondering if someone could explain to me what they mean when they say their console has been "tagged".

Re: Houston, we have a problem (Roster transfers not working on XBox 360 any longer)
Console for sure, but XBL name is another story altogether. BUT, you made a silver account, which has no ties to your gold account, so you could always use that on a new console.Comment

I think your gamertag is fine - it's the Console ID# that is tagged. We could test this as well, ya know, if you'd be willing to let someone log in under your gamertag on their XBox, create a save, and see if people can use it.Comment

Or better, just for him, go to someone's house and try it. I don't want anyone to be responsible if something goes wrong there.Comment

Man - I just hope Microsoft doesn't have a way to update their list of "tagged" console ID numbers without issuing a full on dashboard update. That would really suck if they could add new console ID's anytime they wanted.Comment

Re: Houston, we have a problem (Roster transfers not working on XBox 360 any longer)
I called MS the day this happened (Wednesday). After holding for 10 minutes, I told the woman what was going on with my file saves being corrupted. She then told me that downloaded files from the internet were not supposed to work with the 360 anymore. I asked why and she had no answer. I'm sick to my stomach by all this.
But I know that, somehow, we'll all find a solution so we can have our rosters back!!
By the way, that line about "Children of Men" had me laughing out loud!!!PS4 UserName: sinkdawgComment

Re: Houston, we have a problem (Roster transfers not working on XBox 360 any longer)
So those of us that transfer saves between our own 360 and our own PC's for backup purposes, don't have to worry (providing we don't share our saves with anybody)?
I can't believe this. Nearly 10 years after I bought a Dex Drive for my original Playstation to transfer saves, I can no longer do it with the latest generation of consoles. We would've thought that technology would take a step backwards...
