Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Heads up.For right now, a rumor until "confirmed"..
..but over at SlickDeals.net & CAG (*Source*), the next Wal Mart secret sale is the 80GB PS3 @ its original price of $499 w/ 10 in-store blu ray movies for free. Add in the 5 free blu-ray deal (found here), and you have a 80GB PS3 with 15 blu-rays.
It supposedly will run from 11/24 at 8:00am through 11:59pm on 11/25.D E S E R V E_V I C T O R YR.I.P. Sean Taylor (1983-2007), a True CaneComment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
I don't know if this has been brought up or not, but apparently, the 80GB model is eventually going to be phased along with the 60GB (which we knew already). The 40GB will be the only option.

Coming from someone with a decent PS2 library, I don't like this at all. I wish I could get an 80GB right now, but the money just isn't there. Thoughts??Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Do any of the PS3s allow you to transfer files using an iPod as a flash drive? Apparently the 40gb PS3 doesn't allow you to do this. In fact, connecting it up to the USB port caused my PS3 to lock up so that the only thing I could do was hit the power switch in the back.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Yeah, I'm apparently one of the few people who doesn't own a USB thumb drive. I've got to pick one up, but didn't want to deal with the Black Friday mess.
[Edited] I was hoping I could temporarily use my external USB hard drive to transfer files, but that won't work because I formatted it as an NTFS drive. The PS3 only recognizes FAT32 drives.Last edited by edmus; 11-24-2007, 01:09 AM.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Wait a minute. So on the new 40gb model you can't use flash drives to import saves and stuff? Or can you? Or does using an iPod just not work for that? Help me out here.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Same here Vince. I've had more fun catching up on all the old games that I missed on the PS2 while I was an XBOX only guy. I finished ICO earlier this week and started on Shadows of the Colossus earlier this week. I've also finished up the God of War Series, some of the Ratchets and Clanks, played alot of Madden 08 on it, and played some Hot Shots as well.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Ditto x2. I'm currently doing second playthroughs of Star Ocean 3 and the Xenosaga series (only played both for the first time earlier this year). Add to that Power Pros and FFXII, two games I seemingly never get tired of, and I'm never lacking for something to play. I really wouldn't have gotten the PS3 if it didn't have full backward compat, which is why I dropped the $600 on the 60 gig.Same here Vince. Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Yes. If you configure your iPod correctly as a hard drive, you can successfully transfer files back and forth. I have done it many, many times.Comment
