Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
No worries - I didn't read anything like that into your post.
Well I'll take the honor. I was worried about it from the beginning; when it snapped I wasn't the least bit surprised....just wondering who was going to be the first to break a PS3 "fortune cookie" controller.
Anyway, I should mention that I went out and bought another one, along with one of those rubber sleeve protector things ($10). The new controller itself actually feels more durable than the one that came with the system, and I really like the sleeve. It gives the controller more girth and seems to add even more rigidness. I don't foresee any problems - for a while, at least. It sucks that I had to drop the sixty bones, but I'm happy with the purchase. Feels like an upgrade.I am become death

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
I too have broken a controller already after throwing it across the room due to a Saito blown save. I have since decided that the monetary loss for a new controller doesnt equal the satisfaction of throwing it so I have since stopped.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Another PS3 technical question.......
Whenever i turn on my ps3 it always starts up on the demo's screen.
Is that how it is when you guys turn on your ps3's ???
If not, how can i make it so when i turn on my ps3 it will be on the user tab ???
Anyone know ??
ThanksComment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Mine always starts on the Game tab and loads whichever game is in the system. Do you have a game in your system when this happens? Maybe it always defaults to the Game tab and if you don't have a game in the system, it sees the demo and goes there.

I just turned off the auto-start on mine, it just got to be too much of a hassle when trying to play anything other than a disc (Tekken DR, mostly)Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
I didn't know where to post this, but the 80gb was available today......my local Best Buy was selling them.
80-GB PlayStation 3 Details Released
New model officially priced and dated
Though the news comes with minimal surprise, Sony has officially dated and priced the newest 80-GB PlayStation 3. Available immediately for $599 US / $659 Canadian, the new package will feature a PlayStation 3 with an 80-GB HDD as well as a boxed copy of MotorStorm.
The formerly top of the line 60-GB PS3 will remain available at its newly lowered $499 US / $549 Canadian price point. The weak-sauce 20-GB PS3 is now being phased out completely, and the word is getting around that GameStop seems to be running a bit of a clearance on the older model, dropping it to $449.99. Not much value there considering you can get the better 60-GB version for just $50 more, but for the moment buyers can choose between three flavors of PS3 action.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Yeah...even if there is no game. It just goes to the most recent demo i downloaded. This looks like it's just the way the ps3 turns on. I was just wondering if anyone's ps3 turn on to the users tab instead of the game tab ??Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
I have a quick question about the PS3 DVD Remote. I bought it about 2 months ago and it's been sitting on my table since. I recently tried to use it and it wont work. I first tried to turn on the PS3 with it then when that didnt work I just tried using it while it was on. I even replaced the batteries. Did I miss a step and need to synch it or anything like that?Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Did you pair them? You have to go to the System Settings, Bluetooth device, pick the BD Remote. Then you have to hold the Start and Enter buttons down for like 5 seconds until it says on the screen that they are paired up.I have a quick question about the PS3 DVD Remote. Select the user icon that is logged in when the PS3 is turned on, press triangle, and set Automatic Login to off.Last edited by flyriceboii; 08-07-2007, 12:13 AM.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Anyone else think this is really stupid? Basically they're charging $40 for 20 gigs of memory (not quite a rip off, but close) and selling an average game (at best) for $60. Why would anyone opt for this?I didn't know where to post this, but the 80gb was available today......my local Best Buy was selling them.

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
I got an London magazine called Playstation World (PSW) that comes with a demo disk (no playable demos, just game saves and videos), but when I put the DVD disk in I get a messgae that reads:
"VIDEO IN THE PAL BROADCAST STANDARD IS NOT SUPPORTED."
What do I have to do to get it to read this disk? I thought PS3 was region free? Do I have to change some particular setting? I can't find any instruction for this in the manual.
Please help! Thanks!Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
I think its dumb if it stays but logically the bundle and price will disappear as soon as the 60 GB units are gone. When they are gone they will announce the 80 GB version will be sold separately for $499 and nobody will care anymore.Comment
