Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
yeah I think the PS3 is a top quality item. The games are coming now, but it will always be behind the 360 I think just because it came out so much later. There just isn't the need for both the systems in the common house.

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
Well Sony is the main problem.Starting to really get upset with all these headlines citing PS3 poor sales and how there are no quality games coming out. Do these guys not know about RAC, Drakes, MGS4? and what about the multi-platform games? Are they saying that those are not quality across all platforms or are they just targeting PS3?
I dont know what kind of arrogence Sony displayed with the PS2 as I didnt get one until summer 2006 and I didnt really pay attention to PS2 until then. I really think reviewers are using that as fodder for there biased headlines. Anyone else feel this way?
"Next Gen doesn't start until we say it starts"
"Rumble is old gen we are moving forward" -Only old gen because they didn't want to pay for rights to have the rumble
They basically thought they could do what they wanted and the P logo would sell regardless.
They were wrong.
Things should get better "hopefully" next year.
As far as the games. Yes there are cross platform but for games like Madden etc that are 30 FPS compaired to 60 FPS on the 360 they aren't the same quality. I believe this has also been figured out and all will be 60 FPS next year.Joshua:

Report from Gamespot--things get worse for Sony
Report: Sony expecting twofold full-year game losses
The PlayStation maker looks likely to revise its initial forecast to reflect a larger-than-expected loss in its games division for its current financial year.

Sony has said in an interview with Reuters that its electronics division will beat its target operating margin for Sony's financial year to March 2008, but the company is now expecting its video game division to record double the loss initially forecast.
Console manufacturers such as Sony generally make a loss on their consoles, which cost more to produce than they recoup in the sale price, and make the money back selling software for the platform over the unit's lifetime. Manufacturing the PlayStation 3 is estimated to have cost the company ¥100 billion (approx $870 million).
Sony is expecting a larger full-year loss than it had previously forecast in the video games division after reporting on Thursday that it was aiming for break even in the second half of its financial year, after a loss of ¥126 billion ($1 billion) in the first half.
However, the electronics division, buoyed by LCD TVs, is likely to exceed targets of a 4 percent operating margin by one percentage point. It also raised its general full-year forecast, sending it shares upward when the market opened.Comment

For anyone wanting to beef up their Playstation 3 hard drive from the standard 60GB (or whichever model you have) to 320GB then there's good news - Western Digital have just launched a 320GB 2.5 inch Scorpio SATA hard drive. Priced at a reasonable $200, the drive is PS3 compatible.I am become death

yeah bk, I think its worth it unless you need to have the wi-fi built in because it does have backwards compatibility and you can always upgrade the hard drive at any time.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
If BC isn't important to you then I would say take the $399 40 GB deal. $300-ish sounds awful expensive for a used, inferior unit that might not have warranty. Black Friday might even have a deal where they might throw in a game or extra controller somewhere too.Last edited by rudyjuly2; 11-03-2007, 06:05 AM.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
I've got a 20 and no worries out of me... I have enough room for demos, game saves, etc. I simply delete a demo after I'm done with it. I also have Warhawk among other downloadable titles.
Now, being used, that makes it more of a question for you... whatever you do, ensure that you get a receipt in case you have to use the Sony Warranty.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
160gb PS3 coming?
http://www.comnetslash.com/2007/10/0...-model-coming/
Don't know how valid it is but I see something like this happening.
Although why would anyone need two HDMI ports and three Ethernet ports?Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part II
That one was rumored a long time ago. It was for dual monitor output and to be a router/hub. That was one of the original PS3 rumors back before it was even announced.160gb PS3 coming?
