So what is it about the PS3 Backwards Compatibility now? I ask because I am seriously debating getting a PS3 but I would play alot of PS2 games on it. I heard that the new PS3 dont have many BC games.

original 20gb and 60gb PS3's have the EE in it which has full backwards compatibility (i think)... the 80 gb does software emulation for backwards compatibility, and the 40 gb has 0 BC capabilities.

Even though the 80 GB ps3 only has software emulation, it's been estimated to be compatible with over 80% of ps2 games. If you can get a 60 GB ps3 that may be your best option, however, if all you can find is an 80 GB then you probably won't be missing out on much.

Wow this sucks..lol. Can they be found in stores,(20gb and 60gb). So the 80 gb system has BC then. How much are they, I really only wanted to pay $400.

Its funny, the Best Buy by me has about 10+ 60gb systems sitting there. Everyone was grabbing the 40gb. I wonder how many of those people think they will be able to pop in a ps2 game and just play it. I know the sales staff there think the 40gb is bc.

Does the PS3 come with everything to play online or do you have to buy that separately?

All you need is a connection point. Everything is ready to go.

i'm having some issues with the wireless connection. help. there seems to be a conflict with my laptop and my PS3. I probably don't have the router configured correctly. I have the linksys wireless router. any suggestions? whenever I connect with the PS3, i lose the connection on my laptop.

Psyblast, did you have the 360 version of NCAA? Curious to see if you see much different in the gameplay (I think running is harder on the PS3). I'm sure you'll notice the framerate drops on the PS3. Make sure you get the patch though.

I just got Marvel Ultimate Alliance for Christmas and am having fun with that. That makes NCAA, The Show and a non sports gaming title in my small collection.

Gamestop has preowned 60 GB for around 400.

Nope, this is my very first taste of next gen NCAA. Definitely a different feel.

And I don't know what's up with the patch. I've been told all I have to do to get it is load NCAA and go to "Online" and then "Lobby", and I'm prompted to download it? I did that and nothing happened. Is it possible that it's already up to date or something?

I would try to see if there are any updates for your router first and see if that works.

Yeah, it's gotta be the settings on your router...I've got a Linksys wireless router and I haven't had a problem (plus my Wii and PS3 connect wirelessly along with a laptop, PC and 360 have ethernet). Not sure what's wrong though, hmmmm

Call sony, I know I had to, you have to get the right port #'s. I have a lynksis router.

That is a shame that they took out BC on the 40gb which to me still makes no sense. Really, how much did that save them in costs on the system? They could have gone with emulation.
