Can't they just admit it was an issue with the internal clock of the PS3, LOL!

I doubt they will, at least until it the time passes for it to fix itself. They're looking at lawsuits if millions of ps3's are affected long term.

If it passes, it'll just be an inconvenience that they'll make up for by a free game or something.

Slims and 80GB 2 ports are fine and everything else is unfortunately effected by this issue.

THIS is weird...mine will: read every disc( PS1, PS2, CD, & DVDs) 'cept SONY discs, just dl'd an update w/ CALL OF JUAREZ...can't play THE SHOW 09, & can't get on PSN...WTF???

Well since my 60GB is out of warranty I opened it up and took a look at this battery thing.

No slims in stock at my local Gamestop, either.

Random: Damn I thought this PS3 shortage was just hogwash, but if Fry's is sold out, then there really is a problem. There was not a time I've walked into a Fry's and didn't see PS3's stacked as high as me.

Sony is effing up logistically and on the software/server side. This is one of their biggest weeks and they can't keep units in the stores when the knew beforehand that demand would be a lot higher after the price drop. Then the early adopters get screwed on top of this. Not a good day for my fellow ps3 gamers. I still have some lingering hope though.

The PS3 shortage is true and just makes no sense at this point. Sony has their biggest month to date with the releases of Heavy Rain, The Show, Yakuza, and God of War 3 as exclusives and then add a 3rd party title like Bad Company 2 which will sell well too..............yet they have no consoles to sell. I was reading that the 250gb systems are a bit easier to find than the 120gb, but still, that is no excuse imo. With a price drop and sleeker form factor, they should have expected the sales they had.

I give up with this generation, in general gaming has been frustrating. It's like mistake after mistake, it makes you wonder where people will go come next generation. MS had their issues with the hardware being whack and Sony with their pricing, marketing being an issue. Trophy support was a nice addition, but as we see further evidence last night it was tacked on and could be a potential problem again in the future. Trophy support also brought down the single player aspect for the system............I hope they can patch this in some way so it doesn't ever happen again.

I going to pick my copy of the show in a b about a half, and I have a slim, but I have see people saying there not having issue with the slim, well I am.
