I wonder if we'll have this issue again in 3 years or something

well it could happen again in 4 years, but Sony could also have a firmware update out by then..or just make it more publicly known that it'll happen.

slims are fine, it's apparently only affecting anything prior to the CECHL fatty model they put out in 2008..

I have a question? So if they do fix it will it be on their end, or do I need to do seomthing. I have not had my PS3 hooked up for about a couple months, so I am curious if they will fix it through their end. Thanks.

Yeah, i know...just annoying that my PS3 is out of commission tonight because they're probably not gonna patch anything and just let it "fix itself".

Normally I wouldn't care, but there are actually a few PS3 games I want to play now. If this had been one of the frequent times my PS3 collects dust for months except for blu-ray I'd be fine.
