I never understood the obsession with trophies...if a game has trophies, cool. But if it doesn't, I would rather have the developers focus on game issues rather than rewards for various achievements.

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Also I'm not so sure we could drum up the "this versus that" excuse when it comes to trophies. How long does it take to implement these, a couple of hours? Just draw up where you want trophies to fall in and program them to pop up when you get them, right? I don't really think that comes at the cost of not making the game issue-free.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
It definitely adds replay value to me for alot of games. GTA IV was the first GTA I went through and completed 100% just for the trophies.Go Yankees
Go Rangers
Go Giants

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Update on 3.42....glad they stopped the pirates.
Update: We can confirm that all variants of the USB-hub emulating exploit (PSFreedom, PSGroove, PSJailbreak) are no longer functional in firmware 3.42. staying on 3.41 translates to no PSN access, as Sony has flagged 3.42 as a mandatory update.

Usually jump on here after downloading a system update to see what it's all about. Sometimes they give you details, usually when it's a serious update. I figured this one was more under the hood stuff (or like someone else alluded to, an update for the upcoming Move stuff) therefore no explanation given.
Never heard of those pirating things, but glad they're patched up!NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
So it was just a usb that would allow you to played copied games? Wow people came up with that instead of having to put a chip in side of the ps3? Wonder how long before they get past Sony again.Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
The USB though retailed for $120 from what I was reading. I am glad that they shut this thing down, but how long before these hackers get around it again.Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Nope that was when it first came out. PSGroove is an open source version of it and people have been porting it to other devices such as a psp, android phones or whatever so essentially you don't have to pay anything. Also there is a way around the update anyways, so that update still doesn't stop them. They can still play with their games while playing online. Also, don't assume I'm a pirate since I know this information. I just find these things interesting so I read up on them and follow.Comment

doesn't look like it.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
