I almost bought Deadlight, then played it, and just felt so confined and restricted that once I fell in water twice back to back I quit and probably won't ever play it again.

        I sense sarcasm.

        Deadlight sucked.

Nope, those are my honest feelings/experience, and I concur.

Oh, okay. The fickle gamer signature threw me off.

Summer of Arcade has been awful this year. Hybrid has been pulled off XBLA because the servers are broken. I guess there's always hope for Dust: An Elysian Tale. That was the game I was most looking forward to anyway.

Funny that the 2 best XBLA games this year haven't been a part of any promotion in Fez and Spelunky.

Yeah Summer of Arcade has awful. I did hear that Hybrid was good once you actually got into a server to play it. And Dust just looks to good to fail.

Spelunky should have been in there instead of Hybrid. Great game.

I guess they didn't want to promote it more because it's a niche 2D game with crazy difficulty.

Checked out the Deadlight demo and won't be buying... especially for that price. Backgrounds look nice and story is somewhat interesting but the gameplay itself has been lackluster to say the least.

Microsoft barely promoted SMB. It sold mostly on word-of-mouth and strong reviews. They launched SMB alongside another XBLA game, and the day it came out, there wasn't even an ad anywhere on the homepage.

It was still a Summer of Arcade game, wasn't it?

                            Doesn't look like it:

SMB came out October 20th, 2010, along with Costume Quest and Dream Chronicles:

Hmm, could've sworn they mentioned Summer of Arcade during Indie Game: The Movie. Maybe not.

Costume Quest. Man, that was a fun game.
