Also, you guys were right about Uncharted. This game is off the hook. I haven't gotten far in it, just playing now for about 20 minutes but i'm very impressed with the story and the characters. Usually I just want to skip through cut scenes but this is like watching and playing an interactive movie. Amazing game so far. I just hope it doesn't get too hard for me and my grandpa stick skills!!

I'm planning on firing up Uncharted after the Lakers-Celts game is over. Can't wait!

That's a nice theme. I'd love to try my hand at making my own theme, but apparently the program you need to use is Windows-only.

To be honest, I'm not that fond of Uncharted. I'm somewhat far in the game, but it seems really repetitive to me. Not too sure what's ruining the entire experience for me...


On the other hand, I can't stop playing MGS4. 5 hours so far; but strangely it doesn't feel like an MGS game to me. There's too much new stuff.

hmmm...i tried to install knight's roster for the show from this site and the game keeps freezing up on me.

i downloaded and ran the newest firmware update, deleted all my files for the show, and am downloading the update for the game again. we'll see what happens...

Just played Uncharted for about 2 hours, loving the game so far. Graphics are outstanding, and the gameplay is fun, definitely something different since I hardly ever play platformers.

I'm really happy about making the switch to PS3. I do miss the great online functionality of the 360, and some of its exclusives (Halo 3 and Forza 2 especially), but the PS3 more than makes up for it in other areas. Whisper quiet (my HD DVR is louder!), super stable (only one freeze), ease of transferring files, The Show, Uncharted, and Blu Ray capabilities—the PS3 has a lot going for it. If they can ever get some halfway decent online capabilities, they will really have something.

2.40 is suppose to be the holy grail of firmware updates.

Did you check out Grand Turismo?

Also, what about MGS man? Best PS game out right now IMO.

Is it just me, or did Sony secretly sneak in background downloading for the PS3? Before I started my session of MGS 4, I decided to resume my download of the Battlefield: Bad Company demo. Anyway, I was playing MGS 4 when all of a sudden a message popped out saying that the download was complete! This has happened to me twice now, once while I was downloading a video and now the demo.

I haven't heard any mention of background downloading to be official so this is quite a pleasant surprise. Its about damn time the PS3 had this. I'm running FW 2.35 by the way.

Lol, background downloading has been around for months now, they didn't sneak anything in. FW 1.6 is correct IIRC and we're up to 2.3something already.

last night i purchased a 40gb from wally world with The Show, MGS 4, and a Dual Shock. So I get around to playing it, and I'm messing around with the Show. I played 3 innings of the Tigers @ the Rangers, and then a couple innings of the Astros @ the Cubs.

Then I decided to download a new theme, the new firmware (2.35), the update for The Show, and a roster update from this site. I got my PSN ID set up and went back in to play the Show, and the game kept freezing at the opening screen that says "Press Start". I kept hitting start and the disc would freeze. I could still hear the audio from the menu but this weird screen of death kept popping up. The BR demo disc that comes with the system worked fine, and I popped in MG and it prompted me to install the game, so I didn't try it, because I want to play it when I have some time to devote to it and not skip through everything in the beginning just to see if the dang system works...

So I deleted everything from the HD and tried the Show again, but it still kept getting stuck. This morning I stopped back by Walmart on the way to work and just exchanged the console. Hopefully I have better luck with this one.

Trust me I have not even setup a PSN name or anything yet. I been real busy when I get home from work (remodeling a house). But the missy is going away saturday (going out of town). So I can be a slacker this weekend . I plan on saturday getting it all setup and adding you as my first friend . Then we can booze it up and see who can drop the most bombs or K's. I will send you a friend request pretty early saturday morning.

The Show has some problems when using connected online through some brands of routers, causing it to freeze. This was probably what happened.
