If you don't already have stuff with the account, or if you don't care about trophies or that stuff, then you can just make a new one with a different name. I wish I would have done that, I hate my name. Its too longFollow me on Twitter: @ADice15Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
Still can't believe I took the plunge.
Got murdered (7-2 to the Rangers with the Sox) my first ever game on a PS3, and I'm installing Heavy Rain as I type this so I'll be playing that in a bit..
..but damn. Finally. Now I just need to grab the Uncharted series and some BluRays.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
As Johnny Drama would say, "VICTORY!"
I got mine.
Ended up having to settle for the Killzone 3 160GB bundle w/ a bonus Bioshock 2, but I'm fine with that. Also traded in my 360 copy of NCAA 11 that I kept to do just that, and got $30 off The Show 11. Also I forgot to mention my friend who used to have a PS3 gave me his games he had left that don't have much value (NHL 10, NHL 2K10 and MAG), so I'm off to a decent start as far as my game collection goes.
I almost hustled my Best Buy into thinking that 2 for 40 GH deal included any GH games, so I almost ended up with inFamous (even though I've already played it and beat it) and Uncharted 1 because Heavy Rain and UC2 were sold out, but they realized at the last second.
The crazy thing is I've had everything since about 4 hours ago and I haven't played a game yet. I've just been screwing around with settings, importing music, checking out PS Home and using the web browser (using it right now to make this post).
Anyways, so far I'm extremly happy.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
There is no install option like the 360. Most games install automatically, parts at least. Some games like GT give you the option to install. You should always install given the option and the room.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
yes it will, but remember it will never install like the 360 install like Altimus said, it will still always read the disk. NO game will do a complete install where the Blu-Ray doesn't move.N.Y Mets

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
Well gf, nothing I've ever experienced so I'm sorry I can't be of any help. But I think you'e on the right track with going out and getting a new HDMI cord. I have heard of them going out, although never experienced it myself.
I'm sure you have already, but if not, have you tried "wiggling" the cable a little to see if you get any feedback on the screen? Or making sure they both ends were plugged in tightly? I imagine if you saw any type of cue on-screen when doing those that it would most definitely signify that your HDMI cable needs replacing.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
Finally going live with this.
Sony will soon allow PlayStation 3 owners to back up their game saves to an online storage, allowing players to access their save data from any PS3 console.
The feature, which will be available as part of the system software update (v3.60) tomorrow, March 10, 2011, can only be accessed by PlayStation Plus subscribers. No word yet if cloud saves will become available to non-subscribers. A Sony representative told IGN, "We haven't announced any plans for it to be available to everyone at this time."
Sony says that up to 150MB of game save data can be stored and a maximum of 1,000 data files per PlayStation Network account. Users can check the amount of space left via the XrossMediaBar. "Copy-prohibited save data" is also supported and all previously backed-up save data can be restored once every 24 hours.
Sony also notes that "most" current PS3 titles will be compatible with online storage for game saves, but that all future titles will support the feature.
When the update goes live tomorrow, PlayStation Plus subscribers can access the online storage feature following the instructions below:
To back-up:
1. Select [Game] > [Save Data Utility].
2. Focus on the save data you wish to back up.
3. Open up the option menu using "Triangle" and select [Copy].
4. Select [Online Storage] as the destination of back up.
To copy:
1. Select [Game] > [Save Data Utility] > [Online Storage].
2. Focus on the save data you wish to copy.
3. Open up an option menu using "Triangle" and select [Copy].Comment
