Another question. I just bought a 40 gig PS3 as a gift for a buddy. There was no Spiderman 3 movie with it. Is it supposed to come in the box or do you send away for it?

It had a blu-ray disc but it just had demos and trailers. Bought it from Amazon (sold by Amazon) and everything was sealed and brand new.

Tried calling Sony but they were too busy to take calls

, will try and call Amazon tomorrow...not a big deal really, had the stuff that counts.

Spider-man 3 was limited time only. So was Motorstorm. They are slowly packaging those consoles without them, although there are still some in circulation.

Huh..well I'll give Amazon a call cuz the system was billed as : Playstation 3 40GB Spider-Man Movie Pack, and that's how they still have up there now. thanks for the feedback all.

I only got Uncharted and played for a little but it was fun. Watched spidey and a clip from transporter 2.

I can talk more when i get a newer hdtv with an hdmi connection because im using component right now

You can get the PS3/PS2 component cables dirt cheap off of ebay as well.

I was testing the component vs. HDMI cables out on my 32" LCD TV (no 1080p). It was very hard to tell the difference in visual quality. I sat about a foot away from the TV and tried to tell the differences. On the Show '08 demo, I thought the HDMI was a little clearer and had better colours. I tried it out on a Cars Blu Ray movie and it was hard to tell the difference. I think that HDMI was better visually but not sure.

I do run optical output for the sound since the component sound is much worse.

According to a report, the next iteration of PS3 packages has been all but confirmed during a GameStop conference call recently. Apparently, the 80GB version of the console is dead, and is due to be replaced by a 120GB model bundled with the Dual Shock 3 controller -- just like we mentioned a few days go. There's no set price or release date, though speculation is that it will turn up by GDC. Instead of a denial, Sony has gone for a "no comment" in regards to this news, though it certainly looks like this is the direction they're heading in, regardless of what they say.[Thanks, Khattab]

I feel bad for my 360...ive only played it once this weekend and was only for COD4. The Show and my blu-ray movies have been eating up my time, but today ill be dusting the dirt off my hd-dvd add-on to watch American Gangster.

Does this mean they'll be selling the DS3 in the US solely on new PS3 systems for a while? That'd be pretty damn crappy IMO. I've been waiting a while to get a 2nd controller with the rumble feature.

No. The DS3 is going to be console and seperate. From what I remember the DS3 hits Europe on March 6th and a week earlier or so over here. Although I'm not sure if that has been confirmed.

But either way you'll be able to buy it seperate.
