Re: PS3 Problem
Let me guess, you have a 40GB PS3? Ive heard of this but have yet to hear of it happening to anything other then the 40GB model, its a laser problem and Sony should take care of it for you.Comment

Yeah, your drive is dead. Sorry. If it's out of the 1 year warranty time, I think they are charging $150 to repair it, but I would call Sony and try to get it covered for free.Comment

Does this happen to most 40gbs? I hope this doesn't happen to mine.

Re: PS3 Problem
The problem isn't as big. Only a couple people here on the forums have had this problem and I haven't seen it much on other forums.
It does seem mostly with the earlier version of the 40GB ones.
The ones without the Spider-man bundle are the 60mn chip ones with a different BR than the 40GB with the Spider-man bundle.Comment

Re: PS3 Problem
Well mine is a 40GB that came with Spiderman and havent had any problems as of yet but at the same time Im also covered through November of 2009 through Best Buy with their replacement plan so Im not concerned with if it breaks or not.Comment
