I am pretty upset. I was going to buy a Ps3 earlier this week because I didn't trust it. I couldn't make it this past week so Sat was the day...Well I had to work and they asked me to go out of town...I MISSED THE MLB PS3 Sale.....Then I just got home from my job about 1 hour ago only to find out there was no price drop. I just don't get it. They sold 297,000 consoles to the Wii's 750,000 or so....DROP THE PRICE....LUCKY MAN DOOKIE.

A reward zone account is free. If however you spend $2500 in a calendar year you are upgraded to a silver membership.

Unfortunately all of my bulk purchases are far too spread out to get that much in one year. Last year I was around $2200, and was tempted to digging in garbage cans outside the store to find more receipts and adding them to my RZ account for that silver membership.

At this point, it's safe to say the PS3 doesn't have a system seller.

LBP, MGS4, GTA, KZ2, Uncharted, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, and MLB 09 didn't move a lot of systems.

Heck Sony could announce at GDC that GTA5 was coming out this July and would be exclusive and I still don't think it would sell that many systems.

Sony has no choice but to drop the price. It's a real shame the PS3 doesn't sell better, It has a lot of excellent exclusives but I guess the reality is, a lot of people don't have money and/or don't care about HD graphics.

Well, MLB 09 The Show, there. Actually, I never bought an accessory, played it the old fasion way. No HDMIs, no battery packs, no cooling systems. Nothing, except a few wasted money on, Live cards. I was also in need of a PS3 was because mainly of its HDMI compatability, and free online access. You do have a good point for other people though.

I agree with you there football. Both systems are priced the same when you look at it, but in a sense the PS3 is cheaper when you stack up both $399 models. It's wireless and you can charge controllers via USB.

120gb Elite = $399 vs. 80gb PS3 = $399

If someone wants to add wireless to their 360 add another $99. If someone wants battery packs, the charger is $29 with 1 battery pack and each additional is $15. Yes, the 360 can be more expensive if you want these features.

From a tech point, they are neck to neck on the price. Then when you throw in the $199 Arcade pack and the $299 60gb Pro, it makes the PS3 look very expensive by $100 and even $200. Both systems have a lot to offer at different levels. I have been a fan of XBOX for a long time, but last year I shifted back towards Sony. I like the hardware better, XMB is still great, and have less fears of my system dying. Lately more and more PS3 60gb reports are popping up of those overheating.

You are right in a way... But at this point with sony not selling alot of systems they need the ps3 at 299...Yes Ps3 at 399 is a great value to alot of people.. And I know Sony is losing money with every system sold. But they have got to start moving more systems so they can make it up in the software dept. Imagine how many more copies of Software would've sold if the pricepoint was 100.00 less?? Most people can't justify spending 400.00 even if it's a Blu ray/videogame system. Who knows at this point. But Sony PS3 is a great piece of hardware... We will see what the future holds. I have just decided not to buy a Ps3 until the price drops...That's me...Oh well

I wanted LBP bad for a while now, I didn't see this deal, but I bought LBP yesterday off a guy in the United Kingdom for about $25 with free shipping, so I got it fairly cheap too, can;t wait to play it.

I hear ya, I have a 60gb and it's still going, I just hope I never run into that problem, also my PS3 is well ventilated and only has been worm, never hot, so I hope I'm good, because I don;t have money like this to shell out for another with the new baby here, "Crosses fingers"

I didn't know that. I should be right around where you are last year. They did send me some BS 5 dollar gift certificates but thats about all I got. I don't even pay attention to the mail they send so there's no telling what they actually sent me. I gotta go through my mail.

The people who do care about the value are the ones buying the PS3. The average consumer just sees the price tag. If Sony can't make people see the value in the PS3 they have to try something else. They can tout bluray and all the built in features that would have to be bought in addition for the 360, but simply for gaming, the ps3 is the most expensive. The majority of people looking to buy simply want a gaming console. Then there's the fact that most of the ps3 games available look the same on a system that costs $200 less.

Sony does have a benefit of growing fresh 1st party franchises though, and they need to hammer these home. It's 3 years and some months in for the 360 and I'm tired of Gears and Halo. Sony spent time and money making new franchises, which are going to attract gamers. They just need to get the price down a bit.

I hear where your coming from, yeah the system was priced to high from jump street. but the $399 price tag now is just fine IMO, I mean the PS3 seems to get overlooked for what the system really is.

The system being a entire household entertainment power house is really not an understatement, thats is truly what it is. IN the end, the outside the box, customers really need see what the PS3 is all about, at first I didn't care, I just wanted to game, and that was all, until I decided to use the system for everything else it does, I can truly appreciate the system so much more.

From easy upgrading your HDD

Blu-Ray player

Muilti-media machine/pics/music, the ability to add my pics to my PS3 via the SD card, is really helpful and great. Also not to mention the new and awesome photo program you can download via the PlayStation network.

Also, reliability is also a plus.

It sux Sony does get more PS3 sales, in the end you are truly getting your money's worth no matter what. So $399 is not much at all for the asking price.
