That said, I'd like to know the trade in values for a 60 GB fatty in case I get more serious about that idea.Comment

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
It's out of warranty anyways so if the 35.00 I spent to fix it only lasts a month or so... I'm not out that much.Joshua:

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
My ps3 was acting up as well for a while. I changed the blu-ray lens 3 times and it kept burning them out. After a while I became tired of the situation and traded it in at gamestop for a slim. Even though it was defective I was able to get $120 for a 40gb that was damaged. I paid the difference for a slim. Like my dad told me when some of these elecetronics go bad just buy a new one. Fixing it sometimes is not the same as buying a new one.NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.Comment

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
I've thought about that but someone here just had a Slim go down. The Slim may be better or it could even be worse than the fatty's for YLOD. We just don't know yet. We won't know unit the Slim has been around for 2 or 3 years. The cost of having a real technician (non Sony - around $80) fix it is better than me trading it in for a Slim at the moment.

Man I finally get a hour or so to use the dang PS3 and this happns...
