Re: XBox 360 Elite price drop
Yup, but that doesn't make a difference from what I have read on this. They were trying to clear out the power brick. The power brick from the older motherboards works just fine.
The 12.1V and 12.1A are on the console itself underneath the serial number and date of the console. They can be seen through the hole on the box with a little bit of tilting the box to the side and tearing a little of the inner box. I did this at Best Buy when I bought mine to make sure it was a Jasper.Comment

Re: XBox 360 Elite price drop
Well, I needed a bigger hard drive, the 20gb was full, so I just bought a 120GB off ebay for $60. That way if my current 360 dies, I can still just buy an arcade and slap on the 120GB hard drive and still come in below $299.Comment

Re: XBox 360 Elite price drop
I went ahead and picked up a Pro last night. Best Buy didn't have a lot in stock, and they'll refund the difference if/when the price drops on Sunday.
The Jasper is quieter, isn't it? It's not a huge difference, but I feel more secure now that I'm not going to red ring at any moment.5WG | Facebook | Twitter | fiftytwoplays

Re: XBox 360 Elite price drop
The guy I bought mine from says it would be compatible with old xbox games as well. But I don't have any so that's not really a concern of mine. Feedback was 100% as well on all the 360 hard drives he has sold.Comment

Re: XBox 360 Elite price drop
This is interesting if true. MS would be fools to raise the price of the Arcade by $30, but maybe they want to push the Elite instead.
UK Xbox 360 Price Cut Announcement Tomorrow?
Microsoft set to reveal full line-up plans imminently according to reports.
by Matt Wales, IGN UK
UK, August 26, 2009 - Following rampant speculation across the internet of late, it seems that Microsoft may well be primed and ready to announce the long-rumoured Xbox 360 price drop tomorrow, alongside full details of its rejigged SKU line-up.
We've seen potential photographic evidence already but now trade publication MCV is reporting its had confirmation that Microsoft is set to reveal all "in a matter of hours".
Any announcement is expected to cover the much-rumoured phasing out of the company's mid-range Xbox 360 Pro and a price slash for the top-of-the-range Xbox 360 Elite. We might also hear confirmation of a slightly less scintilating 30 quid price hike for the Xbox 360 Arcade, as previously reported.
We're waiting on comment from Microsoft but it doesn't sound like we have long to go before the news proves or disproves itself.Comment
