    PS3 disc drive won't eject!

This is different from the other person whose PS3 simply died on him. Mine will not eject the Blu-ray inside of there. I press the button and it tries to, but it makes this loud clutterish kind of sound like it's trying to eject it but it's stuck.

The movie The Uninvited is in there. I watched it last night, then turned off the system. This morning when trying to eject, this happened. I hadn't touched the PS3 since.

On a lighter note, my PS3 still reads the movie and everything is still intact, but I am backing up everything right now just to be safe.

Anyone know what I should try and do about this? Who I should take it to?

Try a hard reset. If that doesn't work, call Sony, something is borked on the drive, if it's over 1 year old, it's $150 to fix.

      That. Is. Gay.

I don't even know what would have happened to it. No one touched it overnight.

By chance did you try ejecting it through the XMB? You know where you hit triangle on the disc icon? Shot it in the dark I know.

I'll try it after this backup process. I'll literally try everything before considering calling them. Then I'll try some random useless disc and see what happens with that.

I was googling the issue and saw on the gamespot forums that someone MAY have found a way to get it out. Heres the google search page if you want to check it out. Link

You mean the first result where the guy's disc wasn't even in the drive to begin with?

Thanks, I'll browse through the rest. I just don't know how to describe the noise it's making. It's just... it's chugging is what it's doing. It sounds like the motor is going for the ejection but something is stopping it. It basically sounds like a ******** lawn mower.

Sounds like this one is my issue:

I may have to send it in. I'll keep looking around though and see if there's any alternate solution that doesn't involve a Franklin, a Grant, and a PlayStation-less Blzer.

Wow and I always thought that xbox was unreliable, but it seems like the ps3 is no different when it comes to this. This is terrible. Also why is Sony charging $150?? That's extremely high. These repairs cost Sony very little money. It seems Sony is trying to make lots of profit with this.

I have said the same thing about charging $150 for repairs. I could see when it was $400-$500+, but not now. I would just opt to buy another console at that point.

no offense, but why in the world would you leave a disk in the system and then turn it off. Even in the sony manual it says not to do this.
