Re: New Xbox 360
there is an xbox 101 video just for this.
I never thought I would, but with my new jobby, as it gets closer to fall I may pick up the new 360 and sell my old one. I'm doing this because I'll probably get kinect, when before my plan was to get a wii as a secondary console. Now I just might go all out for the 360.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: New Xbox 360
That's correct, but as far as DLC goes... 3-4 an you're pretty much full. 16GB flash drives are only $30. Not that expensive. At least that's how much mine one was before I bought this new Xbox 360.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: New Xbox 360
I hope you guys can help me out. I'm going to be getting the new 360 either this week or next, but I will be selling my current console first. I am planning on just holding onto my Current Hard Drive and buying a transfer cable at the same time and transfer stuff from the HD to the new 360. My question is this, will I need to do anything with my current console before I sell/trade it? Also, is there a way to move all my stuff without holding onto the HD and buying the transfer cable? I don't know if its lack of sleep or what, but I am having a hard time understanding the "License Transfer" process and can't seem to find anything suggesting I can transfer files without the transfer cable.
Thanks in advance!Comment

As someone posted above, there is a video on xbox live on transferring data. Also you can find info on xbox.com.
Regarding the current console, your personal account info should be on the hard drive. Once you move it on to a flash drive it is removed from the hard drive. Some newer 360's have internal memory, if so check and delete, if necessary, anything stored there.Last edited by Pete1210; 07-27-2010, 02:48 PM.Comment

Re: New Xbox 360
You can use a USB flash drive to transfer the files. Up to 16GB per drive. That should be enough to transfer over your xbox live account info and game saves. Any DLC or arcade games can be redownloaded for free on the new console.

Re: New Xbox 360
If I plan to play 1 or 2 games at a time and plan to store all media files on my ps3, 4g should be enough right? More than likely the xbox will be used for kinects, nfl2k5, and halo games online. With 4g and an external hd I should be all set I hope.Comment

Re: New Xbox 360
Game files are next to nothing so that won't be a problem. With the 4GB and External HD (keep in mind only 16GB can be used if you have a huge size External HD) you should be just fine.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: New Xbox 360
How much quieter is the new 360 compared to the Elite? I haven't played my Elite for about a month and just played a game last night and couldn't believe how loud it seemed when compared to my PS3 slim. I'm sure it's always been that loud but it just seemed louder to me than I remembered. Is it just my imagination or are the Elite's loud, with a low whining whistling noise in the background?Comment

Heck the power brick hums louder than the system. Peace!!!
