Agreed, I have a real nice 40" Samsung in my bedroom, and I can hardly tolerate the size lol.

I called two different stores and they both told me that I had to bring everything down there so they could run it through some tests before they would know how much I would get.

I don't really understand what the difference between the Elite and this new Xbox is. The new Xbox has wi-fi, so does that mean I can get on the Internet from my Xbox, or just that I don't need a router to play XBL?

No its just built in the older or bigger 360's you had to buy the network adapter

So is this really the only difference? Not worth 300 bucks to me if the Elite is now $250.

The system is substantially quieter then the jet-engine ventilation on the older 360s, which is a nice luxury. Has 5 USB ports, as oppose to the 2 that the old ones had. Also, no red ring(:

I recently sold some gaming gear to buy this, to replace my old Xbox 360. Truth is, there's not really any significant advantage to owning the Slim, if you already own an 360. But I knew before purchasing it, I would be very, very pleased. And I have not been disappointed. If you can afford it, and you know you won't regret the purchase, then by all means, you should go for it. It's a great system, and a damn sexy piece of hardware.

Hope this helps, added a video in there as well.

                Re: New Xbox 360

Thanks for the help. The info and the video basically told me there isn't much difference between the Elite and the Slim. Sure the slim has 250 GB of space, but the Elite has 120 GB, and that is way too much for me to use anyway.

The noise isn't a factor at all using the Elite because you can simply download all of your games to the hard drive. This means the disc doesn't have to spin within the console, which translates into less work for the Xbox. So I can be playing for hours and my Xbox won't be hot at all, because it's basically like being at the dashboard for the Xbox.

I have no use for the wi-fi either. I already use an ethernet cable to connect to my home's router.

For someone who does not have a wireless adapter, I could see purchasing the Slim. But if you don't already have an adapter, you either don't need one, or you don't have an Xbox 360.

Otherwise if you have an Xbox arcade or pro and are thinking of upgrading, I would definitely reccomend just buying the Elite. Basically the same thing, except the Slim has built in wi-fi, which you wouldn't need anyway. And the Elite is $50 cheaper.

Well I wouldnt say there is no difference pluse the fact that there is a chance that your Elite will RROD before the slim with the new 45nm chipset and ventilation.

Even if I didnt have a system, I'd look at the new one before the Elite, especially with the history of the old systems, and the little extras for the same price

Video gaming is a hobby. With $60 games and $15 dlc its an expensive hobby. Nobody needs a video game system. But if your gonna get into gaming, which is a luxory, then why not get what you want and not be cheap. I'm gonna get one because I have a pro and want wi fi and 250 gb for only $50 bucks more than an elite, can't buy that for a dollar!

Now your son and you can play against each other on live. That is sweet! I was going to give my son my old one, but he 8 and just got a Wii, so I gave it to my friend.
