Football, I wouldn't get this man......you hated the Wii. This thing is like Wii Motion+, except much more precise and has some decent but not great software out the gate. Just saying, you will be returning it in a few days since you didn't care for the Wii that much. LOL!

 Re: Playstation Move

I was disappointed with Wii with really the inaccuracy of the control scheme and the titles that came out for it so I sold it off two years ago. I think the PS Move is going in a bit different direction with all the FPS games and attachments that are being made. PS and Xbox cater to a different audience than the Wii.

A title like "The Fight" will never appear on the Wii.

My move just left a sorting facility in the AM which is an hour away so I should have it today or latest tomorrow.Comment

 Re: Playstation Move

I can say I am still playing Sports Champions. I stumbled the other day into the options from the main screen, and saw a option for table tennis to turn off bronze assist. I always felt even in championship cup, I never had complete control of my paddle. I toggled that bronze assist off and WOW is all I can say, I am in complete control of this thing now. Really really good.

Sorry if everyone knows this, but it is at the main screen where you pick what sport you want to play, go into options there.Comment

 Re: Playstation Move

I had a chance to play Sports Champions as well this weekend, and fell in love with archery. Although I can barely hold my arm up this morning (without feeling sore), it was good times.Comment

 Re: Playstation Move

Here are some quick impressions after an hour of game time:

I didn't customize my fighter - I will do that later.

My arms are sore after the tutorial and three fights. I'm not in the best of shape by any means but this game is taxing and a great upper body workout.

After each fight it will tell you your total kcal for the fight and for the session. This was a big reason I got this game. Currently I'm 6'4" and 330 (gained 12 pounds over the past couple months.. :/) and it estimated I burned close to 100 kcal. I wouldn't believe I burned that many calories but I can feel it in my arms and shoulders for sure.

The head tracking would work occasionally. When I have more time I will work with this but after reading impressions, it seems there are tricks to get it to work better (set up the room lighting more even, wear a white bandanna, ect.). When it isn't working, it's noticeable but they did a good job of estimating where your head is in correlation to where your move controllers are.

While I was fighting I felt pretty immersed in the action. The move controllers are pretty close to 1:1 accurate which is very nice. I've only unlocked the hammer fist special move so I can't comment on how the special moves work. You definitely have to work on throwing good punches or your hits won't affect your opponent. If you stand there and flail your arms you will connect but it won't do much damage. I like to setup my overhand lefts with quick jabs, but you can't go easy on your jab either or it won't be effective.

Overall it's very fun and enjoyable, but it's not a game you can breeze through and it lacks a bit of polish. I will post some more impressions after a good playing session which should happen tonight or tomorrow AM.Comment

 Re: Playstation Move

Some more impressions of The Fight:

They went sim and I like it. The mini games to build stats are repetitive and you will be doing them often. I suppose they went this route since in real life you do need to train a lot to become better, so it's a nice change of pace. Once you get the hang of the training mini games they let you get a ton of points per sessions to increase your fighter's stats. I got 50 points in 1 speed bag session which increased my stats.

One thing I wish they would have done was changed the stat categories. They should measure the power and speed of your punches and not use the stat, or at least include a mode where you can toggle this. It'd be fun to see what you can dish out for real.

I give up on head tracking, I leave it disabled. My room is just bad for it to work as we messed up when we painted our accent wall so the lights glare off of the paint as it's semi gloss. The head tracker would probably work fine but as soon as I move out of the glare area it goes from average to terrible. The good thing is my guys head really is close in relation to where my head is as they base it on your hand placement.

This morning I played for an hour which I'm going to try to do every day. I burned 400 calories which is crazy, but I can feel it all in my upper body area. After training and three fights I had to sit down in the corner and take a break!

It seems like the game really only is training and fighting in different areas for more money as you progress. It's a simple game and idea but the gameplay is where it is at and it's a lot of fun. If they would have at least added a decent story it'd be a lot better. I will probably be in a morning routine of training for 30 mins and then fighting for 30, but I could see it being 45/15 or 40/20 until I build my stats (which is more realistic than anything).

I'd say it's probably a 7-7.5 out of 10. If they added a story to the single player campaign and made the head tracking better then it'd be closer to a 8-9. (I assume they could probably use a headband accessory to help with this.)

I haven't tried online yet because my character is too low level but I'll post some impressions of that when I have a chance.Comment

 Re: Playstation Move

My wife has been playing the Get Fit with Mel B game and she really likes it. She recommends it to anyone who wants to workout. Sometimes she has issues with it due to the eye not seeing the entire body but due to my current living room we are kind of close to the TV but once we move out in April/May and into more of a real living room we will have more room so I think that will help out.MLB: Texas Rangers
 Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
 NCAA: SMU, UTA
 NFL: Dallas Cowboys
