    Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion

New Vita Owner here...I few pages back I mentioned my interest in mostly sports games, but it seems like sports title are kind of lacking...It seems as if EA is just being flat out lazy with their Vita titles. It almost seems that they don't want to put any work into this system.

    Let me ask this question....

How are other developers fairing? I realize Sony will always add and cater to the Vita, but how is the other 3rd party support? And I am not just asking about sports games, just games in general.

"We're having a more difficult time than we had anticipated in terms of getting support from third-party publishers, but that's our job."
      - Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studio president Shuhei Yoshida admits that the company has had trouble convincing publishers to create games for its struggling PS Vita handheld.

      ###

This will probably remain true until they can do something to consistently move more units, and even then could take time to build that support up.

They have a lot of 3rd party guys signed up for their multiplatform PlayStation Suite that was just relaunched again as Playstation Mobile but that's really to take advantage of their Android offerings as much as Vita.

WOW..I am shocked since everything is so mobile now. I just can't see myself playing certain games on an iphone or even an ipad on the train.

        very disappointing to hear

Yeah, it's killing me - I couldn't wait to buy a Vita, but the games just aren't there for me (like you, I am a sports gamer primarily). With my PSP, I have football and baseball, but also hockey, college football and basketball. If the Vita survives long enough to cover all of the sports, I'll jump right in (though I have my doubts, since developers (EA anyway) stopped making the other sports games (aside from Madden) for the PSP, and the PSP still has a way bigger user base than Vita).

Have you guys played Madden and The Show on the Vita? They are both excellent games.

I am not interested in Soccer but I heard the FIFA game is very good as well.

I'm leaning towards no, but I will wait to see some reviews and impressions before a final decision.

I was planning on it but I am waiting to read impressions before buying. If it's just a roster update, I'll stick with FIFA Soccer.

picked it up at lunch. it's a roster update.

no tactical defending, no national teams in career mode. interface is the same. messi instead of rooney on the intro. RVP is on Man U, and Dempsey is on Spurs.

                    Don't buy it.

Well...I guess don't buy if you have the other Fifia game, but if you don't it sounds like I should get it for nothing more than just updated rosters.

So I realize this has been discussed over and over, but now that people have had their Vita for a little bit, do you buy your games only digital, only physical, or both? and where?

I thought I would be only physical because of the trade in and re-sell value, but I was reading that if and when a new portable system comes along my digital could be downloaded for possible use on that system.

                            What are your thoughts?

                            Thanks

I started out as digital only because of the convenience, but since then I've started going physical because of the sales on Vita games. I'd rather save sometimes up to $15 or so on a physical version of the game.

For games that don't come out on physical format I obviously DL, but I prefer physical copies of my games. Motorstorm RC, a few pinball games, and one other I can't rememeber are digital. The rest are physical copies.
