I wonder why it already costs $50 more to buy a 3G version of the thing when you might be paying that much for every two months of use.

Im actually getting the 3G + Wifi version just to have the option to go with 3G if better plans come out. I don't plan on getting 3G set up at launch but want to have the luxury of having it if I need it.

3G will not be worth it. I just think of how much data would be needed to play online games, seems like 2GB would not suffice the average gamer.

Pretty sure Wi-Fi is required on Vita to play online, and 3G is just a supplement to the games (social elements).

Yup, like Flawless said, 3G is for downloading, updates, accessing the web, social media, apps, etc. While the Wi-Fi will be used to play games online over your network or hotspot somewhere.

All the more reason why the 3G is pointless. Games, etc, can be downloaded before leaving for a trip, or at one of the billions of hotels or wifi hotspots throughout the US, and if I need to browse the internet/check email, that's what I have my iPhone for.

I honestly think Sony would be better off scraping the 3g model period. They would save money, not to mention the wifi version it flat out selling the 3g version in japan.

I agree, it kind of makes the 3G version pointless since this is not a cell phone were talking about that would need the 3G. Oh well, I guess there might be a market for it, but not for me.

me neither that's why I bought the wifi, I mean if they make games like call of duty, killzone online and all the sports games online, the 2gb wont last at all. Like I aid scrap the 3G sony, sell the one sku and you will see better sales, that's just my opinion.

Feb cant come soon enough, I have been playing uncharted and playing the crap out of MvsC 3 and loving it.

THe battery life pack extends the battery life to 3x that of the Vita for $24.99? Half of me says that's a great deal the other half says why the hell can't the Vita get better battery life on it's own. Fishy

I'd assume they already planned for the future with this. Either that or they don't plan on releasing the PS4 for a few more years.
