It's a pretty unique sidescrolling platformer. The story mode will give you a bunch of crazy levels that you've never seen before in a game. Take a look at this vid of one of the Story Mode levels in the Beta (gameplay starts about a minute into the vid):

    <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/eX-zOO4rjfw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

On the PS3 there are also the thousands of community levels created that you can play through. I never cared to make any of them, but there are some gems out there than people have created (or will create for the Vita I'm sure).

    Atlanta Braves
    - Auburn Tigers - Nashville Predators

Opportunities seem endless. I will definitely pick up.

I read about LBP Karting, but not for Vita.

I'm heading to GameStop as soon as I get off the bus, hoping to catch some of those half off preowned sports games deals....it wouldn't ring in yesterday, but I called in today and it was working.

I think it's too early to say what will happen. I love it and will be very disappointed if it doesn't succeed.

I think it'll get a boost from LBP next month - it's been talked about since launch day and I think people expected it to release much closer to the launch window than this. With that and CoD on the way I think we'll probably have a pretty good idea of how well (or not) it's doing by the end of the year.

                      Still happy with my purchase.

I'm not sure how either of those games lift console sales all that much. As well as the first LBP did it's follow up didn't do nearly as well sales-wise.

COD is a console gamers game due to the community. This would be mitigated if it was the same game on PS3 but it isn't.

Dying console is harsh, but unsuccessful thus far would be more accurate.

Needs more titles that exploit what makes it a unique experience.

I just did my part. Haha. Getting the WiFi vita, portfolio case, a 16 gig card, hot shots, the show, and gravity rush from amazon. Also picked up mk from gamestop.

Looking forward to a price drop on rayman, lumines, and metal gear solid solid. Will also probably get FIFA 13 when it comes out.

It is too early to tell. I love the system, but it definitely needs more games. PSP had the same issue. Sony produces real good quality with its hardware, but without a large-number of games, it can be hard to get people to buy it.

I agree that it is still a bit too early to tell if the Vita is a dying handheld yet. Sony needs to either lower the price or start packing in a first party title and 4gb memory card if their going to sell this at the $249/$299 price points. The other issue is that there needs to be more mobile type games on here that people can buy at $2-$5 price points to open that door.

Last buy not least, I think REMOTE PLAY would be a huge selling point. Imagine the possibilities with that and then if developers would use cross play functionality like the WiiU.

A lot has happened since the 2005 launch of the PSP, anywhere near following the same path (especially with a new console generation looming again, as the PS3 was) just won't be acceptable at all for Sony.
