The demo doesn't require much space other than the standard 7 feet back. I loved the demo so I picked Dance Central up and cannot wait to play it when I get some free time.

Dance Central is one of the few games that only needs 5-6ft for single player. It's nice if you've got a small space to play in.

Thanks for the heads up everyone...just tried the demo and it's a lot of fun and just fine in my space...I don't have to stand as far back as Kinect Adventures.

It's a ton of fun, just did Poker Face on easy but it was cool learning the moves and being kinda ok at them the first time...I'm sure hard is killer, but I'm gonna have to pick this up over Thanksgiving! Awesome Kinect game.

I have 8' between the edge of the entertainment stand and the couch/sectional. The TV can sit another foot back in the entertainment stand, but I don't know if that will cause problems with the Kinect camera. Will that be enough for multiplayer games? Or will it be too tight?

Depending on the game it is probably going to be too tight. For multiplayer you really need 9. My kinect sits back close to two feet and I have not noticed any issues.

If We sit the TV to the back of the entertainment stand, then we'll have close to 10' if not a little over. I just didn't know if the Kinect would be ok sitting that far back on the entertainment stand. If it will, then that's great.

After reading the posts that you guys put on here I went ahead and got one yesterday. I must say that the Kinect is a lot of fun and pretty cool. I played it with the family for about 4 hours straight! After tiring out my bad back and bum knee I just sat and watched my wife and son play for maybe another hour. I picked up Dance Central & Kinect Sports for those curious of the games I'm playing. For those of you on the fence I say go ahead and pick one up, its great family fun and its cool if you're playing solo too. I'm interested to see how they handle games like Gears of War, Halo, ect.

10 feet is the perfect distance. The kinect sends out dot sized points of light that will cover almost the entire room including the ceiling (none of which you will see). As long is it is not enclosed, you should be fine.

I talked to my co-worker and he confirmed what you guys said, Kinect does a really good of tracking your movements.

I'm worried about the lack of games though (games coming in the future).

Sold my Wii today, picking up a Kinect for the family for Xmas. Anybody have game recommendations?

I would definitely get Kinect Sports. Otherwise besides that and what you've listed, all other games released thus far are pretty meh...
