WTH - why not just work out?

Don't use that as an excuse to buy this game. Buy a serious workout program like P90X, not "Wii-Fit" or anything here. The benefits wouldn't even be close.

I am going to do that as I have before (I have the P90x program and the p90x 10 minue workout discs) but im not going to jump right into it because of my schedule.

Im not sure how alot of people do it but i cant get into a regimen and not do it consistently. Seems like a waste of time to me to not stay on your program.

That said, these games interest me more than kinectimals and crap because i can always play it with my wife.

See man... that's an excuse. You're willing to put the time into a fitness video game as opposed to actual fitness.

Think about that for a second.... you have time for the Kinect fitness but not a real workout?

Don't read into these posts as if I'm coming off a bit harsh... I just think guys need to stop kidding themselves with these workout "games." If these put you out then make some time to get yourself back into shape properly...

Pared, this will be in addition to the workout program.

This is not a replacement for it man. There will be days where I can't get in a full hour of P90x or whatever, but I may be able to set up a quick 20-30 minute cario workout, then do my business.

I also did some recumbent bike work, some P90x 10 minute workout stuff, and even some ea active when I couldn't make it. The variety was great..

I dont see anything wrong with that...by the way, nothing taken as being harsh.. I appreciate it man


but again, im more interested in these kinds of games for it right now rather than peripheral fluff games

I think I want a Kinect, the only problem is I don't have a 360 lol. Small technicality I guess. My wife has been stumped on what to get me for Christmas, maybe I'll ask for a 360 with Kinect. The only bundle I can find with the Kinect available online is the 4gb, I don't think that'd be the way to go. So maybe I'll ask for the 250gb bundle with Alan Wake and then the Kinect separate with Adventures. The Wii motion stuff is ok, I like a game from time to time on it, but 99% of my gaming is on the PS3. I'm not getting the Move stuff though because it is pretty redundant with the Move from what I can tell.

I wasn't gonna get one until he made a big deal about it. So that's why he gave up the Wii for it. I'm sure I'l like it too though.

Just make sure you line the floors with plastic for all the upchucking that will happen when overly drunk friends dance too hard.

Kinect turned into a quadrocopter radar

Every night we go to bed thinking that we've finally seen the best Kinect hack done and every morning we wake up to see something even crazier concocted with Microsoft's motion controller. Today, it's been mounted atop a quadrocopter -- yes, man's future worst enemy -- and utilized essentially as a 3D radar, facilitating the bot's autonomous maneuvering around a predetermined track. The random introduction of obstacles is also handled in stride, leaving us equal parts impressed, apprehensive, and eager for more.

Has anyone tried that Biggest Loser workout game yet?

I just got it...and it's really good. I am actually surprised how good it is. I'd actually rate it the best program of the three available now that I've tried them all. (I returned EA Sports Active 2). It's got a lot more depth than 'Fitness Evolved' (which i now using for one off activities...it's great for those, not so much for an entire program).

I am not fat...so i thought 'the biggest loser' would only be for extreme weight loss etc, but it's not. It's got a really good depth of programs.

As i've told you before bro, I've got the same back problem as T-Mac...so my goals are flexibility, strenght etc.

I've tried all three programs the past month and I'm down 2.6 kilos and feeling a lot more flexible...all 3 are good IMO.

The Biggest Loser has a really good combo though of floor moves, warm ups / cool downs + putting you physically into the game. (Fitness evolved puts you in but has no floor moves, warm ups etc...EA Active doesn't put you into the program)

Here's a few of the pre-set program options below:


Boot Camp: A challenging 4 week detox program designed to kick you back into shape.

Belly Buster: An 8 week program created to help you slim, tone and strengthen your stomach.

Armed and Dangerous: A challenging 8 week program focused on helping you build upper body strength, working to tone your arms and chest.

Fighting Fit: A 12 week program built arond box fit routines, designed to help improve your agility, coordination and stamina.

Enlightenment: A 12 week program with a focus on Yoga routines with the aim to help reduce stress, lose a little weight and imrpove your flexibility.

Pared...having tried them, they are 100% not 'games'.

They are full on fitness programs.

I was very, very doubtful...but they are a legit alternative to the gym and you can pretty much replicate exactly what you'd do in a gym if you have the floor space at home + the extra equipment (resistance band and weights).

They are legit IMO.

I have seen the Biggest Loser workout game and my opinion it is not that good. It seems to be geared towards the super out of shape folks who get a workout just getting out of bed every morning.

That's what I thought also man...but it's definitely not. There's tonnes of programs for everyone. I am not fat at all. I flunctuate between 'correct' weight and maybe 3 or 4 kilos over, depending on the time of year / how much i and

So, I was originally not even looking at the biggest loser.

But it's really good. There's even a ultra hard core 12 week program for people who are super fit already.

I really like the floor stuff / stretches. There's even a 12 week Yoga course.
