    Re: Kinect Reviews

Got one for Christmas along with Sports and Kinectimals. Love it!

I have probably played Sports the most, then Adventures, the Kinectimals, but tomorrow I am going to play Kinectimals a lot. I have developed into a monster Table Tennis player. My back hand and serve are my most dangerous moves. I probably played at least 20 matches of table tennis online today and won every single one. Some were close, but others had me feeling sorry for the other player.

Adventures is actually fun. The game do get a little repetitive, but its an enjoyable game. I really like Kinectimals . I also played a lot of Viva Pinata, so I like the kid animal games. I picked the black cat and love it already.

Kinect is definitely fun and can get you in shape if you give it your all and play a good few hours.

For me certain games on kinect sports is alot of fun

Just from an exercise standpoint, going 12 rounds swiging and jabbing and throwing power blows and uppercuts over an hours time with some bobbing and weaving and a little clowing around makes good for anybody
Let alone all the other stuff thrown in with it.

I lift weights and do no cardio at the gym. So hell I get a workout from Dance Central alone lol.

          Re: Kinect Reviews

Having gotten some time to finally play the sports game, the Kinect is amazing. The technology behind it is astounding and is no way a gimmick. There's no reason we can't have some amazing games in a year or two if developers really work on the software aspect of it. This thing has potential to be a standard in every household if they go about it the right way.

            Re: Kinect Reviews

The Kinect sounds like a lot of fun.. but:

Is the Kinect actually worth $150?

Is the game that comes with it even worth playing? Or do you buy Kinect Sports immediately with it?

Dance Central looks like fun too but I'm more interested in the Kinect Sports side, especially the boxing that comes with it.

Kinect was a HUGE hit at my NYE party. I brought Dance Central and Sports but Dance Central never left the tray. We played that til 6 am! The ladies LOVE to dance. And I enjoyed watching.

Just picked one of these up (I'm late with everything) with Kinect Sports...pretty legit.

Think I'll go get a dance game, too and like Jistic, be a spectator when we have some girls over.

I've gotta say, my wife picked up the Biggest Loser. And the game is a lot of fun actually. It's keeping her interested in working out, which is tough to do after having the little one. She's really looking forward to her daily workout, and has been at it for almost a week straight. I've got a "side workout" going on there as well.

Really good bit of information in there for folks who aren't used to working out.

I've got that program also bro...it's pretty good. I am not fat at all...i just want to get more endurance + flexible. I think people are dismissing The Biggest Loser as just being for people if you are massively overweight...whereas there's lots of stuff there for everyone from the completely unfit to the super fit.

At the moment I am using Fitness Evolved Men's Health "Shirt Busting" program for weights and using the Biggest Loser for the flexibility programs. Nice combo.

Fitness Evolved is probably the best of the fitness programs in terms of being next gen / really uses the Kinect well...but it's way to limited IMO to use on its own (No floor stuff, no no warms ups, no cool downs). Together they make a nice combination.

How do you mix up the two programs... do one every other day?

Yeah, flex stuff three days a week. (1 hour each)

Weights stuff three days a week (weights sessions aren't that long)

I normally do the weights while my baby sleeps and the wife has dinner.

Netflix support coming for Kinect this spring, just announced at MS press conference.

                              EDIT - Hulu as well.

Avatar Kinect shown. Basically what has been rumored, a PS Home copy, where you use Kinect to control your avatar's and chat.
