Microsoft announced it has sold 2.5 million Kinect units worldwide in the first 25 days on sale.

Microsoft said it expects to sell a total of 5 million Kinects before the end of this calendar year. Through the first 10 days since its launch on Nov. 4, Kinect sold one million units.

"We are thrilled about the consumer response to Kinect, and are working hard with our retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as fast as possible to keep up with demand," said Don Mattrick, president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft.

"With sales already exceeding two and a half million units in just 25 days, we are on pace to reach our forecast of 5 million units sold to consumers this holiday."

Retailer GameStop recently stated during its earnings call this month Kinect will like suffer from supply shortages during the holiday.

I just got a bundle on Walmart.com, they had some stock so I didn't wanna take any chances or my kid would be bumming since I sold his Wii.

Lol yeah I did that's why I checked. Weird that you guys have so many and we're sold out. I was getting nervous and don't wanna be the daddy that ruined Christmas so I'm happy I pulled the trigger. Got Kinectimals and The Sports game in the bundle too.

Jistic I've seen plenty of kinects here in the southern suburbs. It is crazy how some regions have plenty while others none. Move is the same way with stock. Lol

Got 2 of the best games for it, especially since you have a kid.

I would recommend Dance Central and if you want to work out, Your Shape Fitness Evolved.

What about the other sports game, the one with Paintball and Dodgeball? Does anyone have that one? My wife wants it as well, but if it's a stinker then I'm gonna stay away from it. We're having a blast with Dance Central, Kinect Sports and the Adventures game.

Also, does Kinect Sports not automatically adjust the avatar to who is playing? It gets annoying have to sign out of a profile, and then sign back in (if I'm signed in and she wants to play for a while, or vice-versa). I know Adventures does this flawlessly

It's been hit or miss here 2 hours south...some days there are tons in stock, then all sold out for a week or so. When I got mine a couple weeks back all stores were out except 2 at one of the gamestops in town. That made me pull the trigger.

Deca Sports Freedom. I got it only because it was only $40 and I had a $20 credit on amazon that was about to expire. I would say it isn't too great...but I haven't played it more than 30 minutes though.

And yep Kinect sports doesn't react like adventures does. Gotta sign in and out every time. I finally gave up on it and just had myself signed in, and everyone else just gets to be a guest.

Man, that sucks. Was hoping that there was something I was missing as for signing in.

And that stinks that Deca Sports Freedom isn't too good either. I knew that the one with the horse racing, etc stunk, but I'm disappointed that Deca wasn't decent either.

Picking it up today. There's a deal in Canada at Best Buy and Futureshop that includes a 4gb Xbox, Kinects, Kinects Adventures and Assassins Creed 2 for $299.99.

I'm going to sell my current Xbox and put it towards this purchase. Can't wait to try it out tonight.

Has anyone tried that Biggest Loser workout game yet?

Just worked out using Fitness Evolved. Did the Men's workout program and now my legs are like rubber. I also use EA Sports Active 2 and you can get it from Walmart for $59.99 according to a post I read up on slickdeals.net. At that price it is worth it. Not sure about the $100 I paid but now the price is in line with some of the bugs that still need to be addressed by EA.

I have seen the Biggest Loser workout game and my opinion it is not that good. It seems to be geared towards the super out of shape folks who get a workout just getting out of bed every morning.

Actually I have the Wii's First EA Active and the extra workouts Active disc as well, but I could at least workout with my wife. Those sensors are about 70 or 80 bucks with the Active 2.0 game. Thats insane

I want to do more toning down again since they completely messes up my workout place where I used to go.

At some point I know im going to get this though for the sheer ability to workout without attachments

Same here I have both the first Active and the extra workouts still in their Wii boxes............UNOPENED. Sad I know but I hate having controllers in my hands when trying to workout.

I am trying to tone up and lose some unwanted fat around the midsection. Not really fat but not exactly in great shape either. One thing is for sure, you can't lift weights with that stupid controller in your hand so Kinect is the way to go. There are a few times the Kinect doesn't pick you up perfectly and as long as you don't get frustrated and throw the weights thru the tv then you should be fine.

That's probably a problem with alot of motion games. Im not sure if that'll ever be perfect.

You were right about that Active 2 sale though but they were all sold out as of this morning. I wouldve jumped on that hearing the PS3 version comes with 2 monitors

anyway, Ill probably pick up kinect after christmas, no need to rush it now
