Looking for a unicorn I think, is there a good headset for PC + Xbox One + PS4 and easy to switch between them?

Re: Gaming headsets
I was worried reading reviews a lot of people wished they could go louder, but I use the lowest or 2nd lowest setting and find louder is too loud and probably damaging to the ear.
The biggest knock on the xoFour's is that you can't hear yourself speak electronically though the headphones. This bothers people because the headphones cup the ears so that you can't hear much and you probably couldn't hear yourself speak if you were doing so quietly, so therefore you have no feedback on how you sound and if if you're even speaking correctly.
Overall I'm quite satisfied for $120 CAD, plus I have the adapter that came with it if I'm ever inclined to try my other headphones I have (bose, klipsch) or upgrade etc.
I bought them for gaming at night when my girl is in bed and I hate playing on mute, plus I"ll also watch the odd netflix or even just regular TV with them
The xoSeven's are EXACTLY the same performance wise, but offer detachable plates on the sides for customization and memory foam for better comfort.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
Otherwise I'd have no idea....I just manually switch currently.
*edit*
You could get a PC Headset, the 2-1 adapter that lets you plug into PS4 controller, the Xbox One stereo headset adapter too. Then you'd just have to plug your controller into whatever controller or pc you're using.Last edited by mgoblue; 04-21-2014, 06:29 PM.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
I would go with a PX5 type that's optical audio based and buy a optical switcher that you plug every optical into....then you just have to select the input when you switch.

Re: Gaming headsets
I wish I didn't have to switch headsets between systems. If I had the choice I would use my Pulse Elites for both consoles

Re: Gaming headsets
Yeah. I wish my PX5's were newer with the Wifi connection (mine are 1st gen and crackle occasionally), but they're really awesome. I finally got it all set up for the Xbox One and it's great.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
Figures it'd have to be one of the $200+ sets
Ideally I'd like to move away from my G930s that have some issues thanks to my son somewhat breaking the wireless dongle - but still kinda working now.
PS4 and Xbox One are downstairs, PC is upstairs. Would get most usage on PC, but occasionally on the consoles downstairs and/or the Vita. In a perfect world that wouldn't be a hassle to move from one to another...
edit: I see refurbs have been as low as $75 on woot, cool.Last edited by mestevo; 04-22-2014, 04:11 PM.Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
MS makes their own stereo headset and I've heard good things about the TB XO series which all come with the chat adapter. Polk also makes a stereo headset for the XB1 but I haven't heard much about it.Last edited by doubledeuceR6; 04-23-2014, 04:58 PM.Texas Rangers/Saints/LSU/Tottenham Hotspur

Re: Gaming headsets
In that price range you've got plenty of options.
It appears the sound is great on the Polks but there are some mic issues at the moment.

Re: Gaming headsets
Well with the XB1 the chat adapter has your game and chat volume controls built into it. The one drawback to this though is that it renders the the transmitter with my PX5's useless because the adapter only sends a stereo signal. I'm guessing that's why all the official headsets that are out now are all stereo headsets.
I use the buttons on Stereo Headset adapter to be 100% to chat volume and 0% to game volume. This lets the good PX5 transmitter come through, but still use chat through the cable.
You have the option of ignoring the transmitter and just doing stereo sound if you prefer though....I'm sticking with the optical. If I go stereo I'll just use a old Razer PC headset I have that I plug into the Adapter.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Gaming headsets
It doesn't render the transmitter on the PX5 useless. I use the Xbox One optical out to the transmitter to get the best possible audio (PX5 decodes surround and does virtual stuff). I then use the cable between Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter and input on PX5 for Xbox chat.

Yup. I do the same thing with my px5Comment
